AAS: “The Lady Demons lead the nation in forced turnovers (27.8 per game). They forced 32 in the victory over Central Baptist.”

Northwestern State may force the most but they average 21.2 themselves. Texas is 5th in the nation in rebounding margin (+14.2) while the Demons are in the red on the boards (-6.9). Northwestern State only has 4 players 6’ or taller: 2 at 6’, 2 at 6’ 1”.

They may force 100 turnovers against Texas as sloppy as Texas is with the ball, but Texas will still win.

Glad we are winning but I have never seen such sloppy play from Texas. Worst defensive effort I have ever seen from a Texas team. On the bright side - our outside game finally arrived.

Jatarie and Charli must have run off with Karen's husband to not play in a blowout like that.

Texas played and shot the ball well today offensively but they still need to improve defensively. Destiny and Joyner played well offensively and the perimeter players shot the ball well. Sug, Destiny, and Joyner are too careless with the ball. And Sug in particular as the PG is too loose with the ball and still needs to improve her decision making. And they still need to use more pass/ball fakes.

They have to do a better job defensively. They allowed too much dribble penetration and backdoor layups. The overall team defense wasn’t very good at all and has to get better if they want to be a better team. Decision making/ taking better care of the basketball and defense are the areas they need to improve on from this game.

I agree with Karen's post-game interview with Craig Way. The 2nd and 3rd quarters had great defense, one I haven't seen all year. And yes, the 4th quarter was SLOPPY. This is the type of Texas WBB I was hoping to see this year and I don't know if this was a one-off or a sign of better things to come with Big 12 play about to start. We should have been smothering and outscoring ALL the teams this way, except Tennessee and Miss State.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Destiny listed as a starter. Interesting short interview where she talks about it

Agreed. I thought it was a good move by Coach Aston because it helped to open up the court against the zone and it allowed Sug to play off the ball. IMO Sug is better offensively when she’s playing off the ball.

It was a good game for the ladies. With White out the team looked much quicker and pushing the ball upcourt. I am not suggesting White is not valuable and we are going to need her but in this game with a smaller opponent she was not so valuable. I sure hope Collier and White will be back Wednesday. Okie State is not big with Vivien Gray at 6-1" their best player. Puzzling that Collier didn't play. If you had told me prior to season that on the last game prior to conference that Higgs, Prince, White and Collier would not play, I would have been in depression. The ladies played hard start to finish today. I was a little surprised that coming off some holidays that they would be as focused. Wonderful to see the 3 point shooting coming around. Littleton talked about confidence. Williams shot the ball with confidence as did Sutton. So perhaps they just needed time and experience to get their confidence down. Looking forward to Wednesday game.

So did White and Collier really not play even though they could? Were they dressed out? Or were they injured/suspended?

A lot of good things today. I assume Charli and Jatarie were in the doghouse. Joyner looked great. She force stuff, but played in the flow with everyone else. Sug's and Destiny's numbers speak for themselves. Of course, the defense in the first quarter was awful. But, I thought we had better ball movement and ball reversal on offense than I have seen in a long time. All this, but of course understanding that we were not playing a great team today.

This wasn't a perfect game but I was glad to see the team not play down to the competition. They looked better against Northwestern State than they did against Stetson and UTRGV.

Did Coach mention why Charli and Jatarie didn't play during the post interview?

I don’t recall coach mentioning the reasoning in the interview, but Carolyn Peck alluded to “lack of effort in practice” during our OSU game, as a major factor in starting and playing time for KA’s athletes.
