Almost time to exhibit. Who will we see and what will we see? I'm anxious to get this first look.

Ditto on Booker. I think she can be a force from day 1 like Rori was, though in a different capacity of course.

I'd also like to get a look at Boutillier, even though I know she won't play any live games this season, I'd like to see something of the skillset Vic has to work with over the next few years.

Can’t be at this first one so TV viewing it is. But I’ll be there next week for sure. Can’t wait to see how much improvement with our starters from last year to this. Any updates on Gaston?

Excited to see the first game of the new season. I subscribed to Sling today in anticipation. Pleased with the quality of the picture. Got some work to do on how to use the guide and dvr but it seems fairly straightforward so far.

I sure hope Coach let's Booker play. It's refreshing to see a 4 moving effortlessly and SCORING!

We have a lot of length and size. We just don't have quickness in the backcourt we had 2-3 seasons ago; not surprising. Even in the first couple of minutes, Gonzales was struggling to stay with the opponent's SG.

With so much length, I think this team is better suited to play a zone defense (or a matchup zone) rather than man-to-man; doubt it will happen much if at all.

I'm already in love with Madi Booker. 7 assists in the first half. The game just seems so natural and easy for her; she's put in a lot of hard work, I'm sure, to make her play look that way.

I know it's just one scrimmage, but Madi can best be described as a "point forward", IMO. I recall Stanford's Haley Jones labeling herself as that a few times; but, Booker certainly has similar skills in a much stronger frame. Jones was never a very good 3-pointer shooter; hoping Madi's long-range shooting is as good as the rest of her game.

She's gonna be a real difference maker, especially when the level of competition goes way up.

So, what kind of offense are we playing? I just realized half-way through the fourth quarter that we are not playing any dribble-drive (that I noticed).

So, Codio did not play. But, encouraging that Tionna Herron entered the game with like 4 minutes left in the game.

Not bad... about what I expected. It was great seeing Tree get some action. She's got a beautiful free throw stroke for a big. It was good to see Jak get going also. Taylor Jones looked really good as did Maul.

I was impressed tonight. Especially considering Horns were missing Moore and Gaston. The new coach at Midwestern had em playing hard and will be winning a lot soon. But tonight, too much size, skill and talent for Horns. Schaefer will have way more talent this year to play closer to what he likes. Gaston’s boot was much larger than I was expecting. Thinking now it was a high ankle sprain. Typically that’s a six week injury. The two plus week schedule seems low. Good to see em playing again.

When they said Booker could play PG after Harmon and then Maul, I had to nod my head and say, “I can see that”. Plus she was actually doing it in the game. Man she is talented!

Codio did end up entering the game with 1 minute remaining; so, another encouraging sign.
Jordana played about 5 minutes in Q3 also, 7 minutes total according to Danny's box score above.

There is nothing physically wrong with Tiona, still, it surprised me that she got her minutes. As brnkj mentioned, very natural and accurate free throw form. At first sight, she doesn't look particularly like an athlete, but surely is. Every inch a 6'4" physical presence. When she gets her wind back, she can help us this year.

The Gaston news is better than I hoped. Back on the court for Connecticut?

Madison took a lot of minutes away from herself at PG with her nonchalant passes. Coach took note and immediately pulled her. Freshman.

While the hype surrounding Booker is fully warranted, I think I was most surprised by Maul. Wasn't expecting her performance. I think she will provide important minutes in future games.

Maul plays with a lot of confidence, and she's been the leader at state championship teams at Cedar Park.

Glad to see her shooting from 3-point land and draining them. I had been wondering who would be our zone busters, and looks like Holle, Gonzales, Maul, and Booker (and maybe Codio) will give us size on the perimeter to shoot over smaller guards/wings.
