I have a twin brother who thinks that we wouldn't mudhole FSU....

ummmm am I wrong? I think we would win like 38-14 or something. I mean I know they have some NFL caliber players on the defense

Honest Opinions please..

Things that concern me - the young secondary is potential to get burned badly when we play top notch team - very scary. Some good runs but we need a bust out to beat the big boys.
Things that make me smile - if Colt did not have a one game performance then he is the rock that will carry us through close games. 25 for 29? That is fantastic because some of those 4 incompletes were drops. Orakpu will star on defense and Kindle will learn how to get around a defender instead of trying to always run through them. He has the speed. We just need them both to stay healthy. Secondary can play, but they need time to get consistent. Right now Ok, and Mo could put a hurt on us.

Florida State would probably keep in close in Tallahassee, just because.

If it was played here in Austin, probably not so much.

Florida State is pretty much five minutes ago in college football.
 
I'm really not sold on the ACC yet. From what I saw this week, Texas would be among the top teams (if not THE top team) in that conference. Clemson and Virginia Tech both went down to humiliating upsets yesterday, and they were supposed to represent the cream of that conference. NC State and Virginia also got thumped, while UNC and Maryland struggled with their Div I-AA opponents. Only Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Duke, and Miami played a respectable game. Yes, I am shocked I had to include Duke on that list.

Granted, FSU did not play, so I don't know where they fit into the picture. I can't imagine them being significantly better than the rest, though. I don't know that we would mudhole FSU, but I think we are capable of beating them pretty soundly.
 
Virginia got completely depants by USC. Loss

Wake Forest mudholed Baylor. Win

Clemson did their usual against Bama. Loss

VTech lost to ECU. Loss

GT beat Jacksonville State. Win

Miami beat Charleston Southern, whom of which has the privilege of only having 2 winning seasons in their history. Win

NC State got mudholed by South Carolina. Loss

Boston College shut out Kent State, but only score 21 pts. Win

Duke beat James Madison. Win

North Carolina squeaked by Mcneese State . Win.

Maryland beat FCS Deleware 14-7. Win
FSU had a bye week.


The ACC was 7-4 over the weekend, and the wins were against some pretty serious cupcakes. I think it is safe to say that the ACC underwhelmed the nation in their first weekend.

Despite the performance by a couple of our crappier schools in the Big 12, the conference had a strong showing by going 9-2 with Colorado currently beating CSU (who always plays them close).
 
I think most people would agree that the ACC is terrible and that Texas would beat FSU a large majority of the time.

Considering that Texas played Ark St, UCF, Nebraska, and Ok St very close and then lost to K State and A&M, it is not unrealistic to assume FSU could keep it close.

In the same regard, Texas did mudhole TCU and ASU.
