Texas vs. Baylor DH-Game 1

It seems that the rain has moved east of Waco and that we will have a long and probably strange day of baseball. The last day of the regular season, with the Big 12 Tournament starting on Wednesday morning, Texas and Baylor have 18 innings of baseball to play.

That means using a lot of pitchers, in all kinds of ways. Texas is in the Tourney already, but Baylor is still trying to get in. The Bears need one win or a Kansas loss today, to keep their streak alive, of making every Big 12 Tournament. The only other team to do that is OU, which is already in.

If Baylor gets in before the start of the second game of the doubleheader, things could really get strange. It could turn the second game into a glorified scrimmage, with maybe position players pitching for either team.

Josh Sawyer will get the start, for Texas today, on the mound. Ben Johnson is back from suspension, but Zane Gurwitz, will not start today, still paying for dogging that play in center and allowing the runner to go to third.

The game is on Dish on channel 443 and the audio at
