Texas vs Arizona, 12/13/23

I cut the cord earlier this year and went with YouTube TV. Had to give up LHN for this season, but I attend all the home games anyway so I didn't think it would be a huge loss. Who knows how much Texas live coverage we will have next year in the SEC. Anyone?

For Arizona, I was hoping the free Fubo 7-day trial would provide access, but their ballyhooed Pac12 coverage doesn't appear to offer much at all.

Unless you folks have any better ideas, it sounds like audio-only will be all that's available. How uncivilized.

As a fellow cord cutter who also subscribes to YouTube TV I will try my best to help. To answer your question about TV coverage in the SEC next year... as you know, YouTube TV does carry the SEC and, because the SEC Network is a product of ESPN, pretty much all games will be available either on the SEC Network broadcast or on ESPN+.
For tomorrow night's game against Arizona on the PAC-12 Network... I am able to get that because, during basketball season, I also subscribe to Sling Orange+Blue with the sports package which gives me access to the LHN. Their PAC-12 coverage is extensive with each of those regional PAC-12 networks having their own channel like the old FOX Sports networks.

The game doesn’t show up on the guide on Fubo for the Pac12 network for me. It has some kind of encore football games during that time. So very frustrating

As far as SEC TV it would seem we may be able to watch all the games on SEC or ESPN+ but will no longer having programming such as the coaches shows, Gameday etc.?

I thought Fubo offered the full PAC-12 package. Is that not true?
Looks like they do:
Arizona
https://www.fubo.tv/welcome/matches/EP048662961156

They got the date wrong though.
I hope you're right. I'm so new to it that I may be mistaken. As far as I can tell, Fubo has only one PAC12 channel, and that channel shows very little of interest. Certainly not multiple channels/links that would be required to show concurrent Pac12 games.

Updated Edit: Now that I subscribed to Fubo with SportsPlus, I'm seeing our game displayed in their schedule. Hoping for the best tonight.

That makes sense. If we can get live Texas games on ESPN+, I will be a happy camper.

If you are outside the US you can watch the Pac-12 network on their international YouTube channel. If you have VPN you can connect to the internet from outside the US. I assume this game will be on there (based on the below link). I know the USC-Long Beach St Men's game aired on there recently.

Thanks. I'll try that. Since you are referring to YouTube vs YouTubeTV, I assume the video will not be posted until the game starts, or shortly prior to the start?

Is it required that you have a YouTube Premium subscription?

If all you are interested in is PAC 12 Networks and/or LHN you can get Sling Orange with the sports package, you don't need Blue. That's what I have. If you want BTN you need Blue.

I don't think YouTube Premium offers any content--just removes ads. So I don't imagine it's required (though I have it). I think you can see the stream prior to start of game. The stream may be for the actual channel not the game. So you can watch it right now too:

Another vote for Sling Orange plus Sports Pack. I, too, cut the cord and went with YouTube Tv aware that I would not have access to LHN. My plan is to keep the Sling package until the end of WBB season and then cancel. I really like Sling and their DVR is nice and if they offered my locals (I don’t want to fool with antennas) I would take them over YTTV.

Totally agree! If I only had one TV I would use Sling and an antenna. But I have three TV's that I watch regularly.

I went down the rabbit hole and looked at the box score of the last time Texas played AZ, which was Karen's last year:

Women's Basketball vs Arizona on 11/17/2019 - Box Score - University of Texas Athletics

Wasn't pretty. Looking at that roster, I thought, "Well. Vic woulda done something with that roster. Celeste and Joanne and Lashann and Charli and Joyner. It wouldn't have been a 25 pt blowout if Vic had been coaching.
Definitely time for a little payback. Plus need to send a message to those recruits who chose Barnes' program over us that they made the wrong choice. Also important for future west coast recruits.

Looks like Sling Orange plus Sports Pack costs $31 before taxes and fees after the first month $20 discount. Normally, ESPN+ carries Texas WBB away/neutral games, so I may only need Sling for this one game.

Trying to decide if that $31+ is worth it for one game considering the game will most likely soon be available as a YouTube replay afterwards.

I haven’t cut the cord yet because everyone I know who has eventually got to a point where they were missing games. Knowing my friends, it could easily be user error.

I have Sprectrum with the sports package and the game is listed in the Guide on the first of the seven PAC12 Network channels (ch 375 in Austin).

For next year, that same setup has the SEC Network so I hope I’ll once again get all the games.

Does anyone know what happens with LSN - will it still exists and/or will we need to subscribe to it to get the ESPN+ games?

ESPN+ will almost always carry the games unless, as with this case, the network broadcasting the game is owned by another entity.

I just scrolled through the menu for ESPN+ and the AZ game is not listed as a streaming option. I do have Spectrum, so I'll cross my fingers and hope that one of their 8 channels does actually show the game and not a grainy replay of a diving meet from 10 years ago.

I assume you meant LHN. If so, my understanding is LHN will cease to exist since the SEC does not permit individual school networks.

Whereas ESPN+ will continue as a streaming service under the monthly subscription pricing model.

Glad to see there is actually a post about the game. (Perhaps we should have named this the "streaming thread"). In any event, Texas definitely needs to be on its toes and not let happen what happened last time. Points in the paint, points on turnovers, bench scoring, turnovers, etc., were hideous...and who was guarding McDonald??? Time to atone.

Arizona plays really tough defense... tougher than any we've seen so far this season. They make things ugly and keep the scores low. This game should be a great test of our offensive patience and execution. We need to rebound and hit free throws... limiting turnovers will be paramount. Just be the team we are capable of being (as shown vs UConn) and all will be well.

I cut the cord and went to streaming. I've tried FUBO, YouTube, VIDGO, and Sling. I'm back to streaming Spectrum. It's only $70/month. I have cloud DVR. I don't have a cable box. Occasionally there is lag but no more than any other streaming. And I have the Spectrum app on the computer and phone so can watch it all when traveling. I included the sports.

Fubo:
"Pac-12 Network, the Networks’ primary national channel, is currently available across Fubo’s leading “Pro”, “Elite” and “Premier” subscription packages. Additionally, all six of Pac-12 Networks’ regional channels can be accessed via Fubo’s “Sports Plus” add-on package." So I believe you need the free trial of the Sports plus package which you add on at the end of the process.

"Games to watch on fubo
NCAA Women's Basketball

Arizona

"
It lists the game in my directory on my telly so I should be good to go. We'll see.

Updated Edit: Thank you, Ursus. I subscribed to Pro and I thought I subscribed to SportsPlus, but apparently I did not. Now that I rectified that, our game is displaying in their schedule. Thank you again for the heads up.

Naturally, I won't know for certain until gametime, but it looks like this is going to work. I setup a VPN and picked a server in Australia, which is where I assume 12au resides. Update: I also tried a Canada server and that works also.

At this website our game is listed in the Live TV Schedule for 6pm (I assume that is local time) with the note LIVE
Women's College Basketball "Texas at Arizona" 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM LIVE

Free streaming? We can only hope.

I forgot how McDonald et al manhandled our D. Different players/teams. I’ll watch with interest if Schaefer implements his desired full court pressure. Or uses what he did against UCONN. He said he didn’t use full court based on all the layups UCONN had last year. Don’t know about Arizona’s guard play…..which typically would dictate whether to press or not. It’ll be obvious from the get go.

That interests me too. We looked good in the 1st half of the UConn game, but we gave up about half a dozen 2nd half layups when UConn staged their rally. And that was before Coach made his wholesale substitutions. No doubt Vic has that fixed.
