Texas Volleyball Future

It was exciting to watch the volleyball team make it to the final four this year. I hadn't really ever followed the sport until late into this season.

Can someone address what the future looks like for our program? Should we / can we expect this level of success in the years to come? Do we have good coaching? Do we have top notch recruits coming in? Do we lose a lot of seniors this season?

The only starter we lose is Paolini, one of our middle blocker. I expect Rachael Adams who played a fair amount this year to step into Pao's position nicely. We also lose Kiley, defensive specialist, but she was only used late in the season. We bring in the #1 recruit in the nation, Bailey Webster 6'3" and also Sha'Dare McNeil a 6'1" MB. This recruiting class should be #1 or #2 in the country, so we are getting it done on the recruiting end. Texas should open up in the Top 3 in the preseason rankings and should again be favored to take the Big 12 championship.

The other final four contenders: Penn State loses Nicole Faucett and Harmotto but will still be good with their setter & Hodge. Stanford loses Foluke & Cynthia. Nebraska loses Jordan Larson. I expect Florida to contend for the Final Four as they were a very young team this year.

Tempest has summed it up well. We have a great recruting class and have done well the past several years so we should have a great team next year. Of course you never know what can happen in the future such as injuries or a bad match in the playoffs but we should be a good team and have a good chance to get to the final 4 again where anything can happen when you have 4 great teams there.
I am mainly concered that we might lose Destinee Hooker since she may go pro in track after this year. I hope she stays one more year because you can always go pro in track but your senior year is gone once you go. Even so we will be great. A fun team to enjoy and watch in the future.

Texas will be #2 or 3 preseason and definitely a final 4 team. We return a veteran team plus bring in what should be the #1 recruiting class. Stanford losing Barboza and Foluke is big blow. They do not have athletes on the bench or coming in to replace them; not even close.
