I was hearing that there was a chance we'd play a "neutral" game in one of our major Texas cities; I was hoping we'd be able to play a double-header against UNC when our men take on UNC at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
But, this would be great, too. San Antonio and South Texas fans love coming out to see the Longhorns, regardless of the sport.
I remember the final four in San Antonio when OU was there and UConn won the whole thing. Those Huskie fans I talked to spoke about how great it was to get to see their team since many of them can't get a seat in Storrs. It could be embarrassing to have more UConn fans go to San Antonio to see a game than UT fans drive 90 miles
And, it's a doubleheader!!! Baylor will play Tennessee according to this article (not a lot of info. about that particular game here), but it will be an exciting day for WBB anyway!
I'm betting that the invite for Baylor has a lot to do with Griner signing early. Just my opinion, but the whole WBB nation wants to see her play. And with the crowd that UCONN and TN brings to away games, should be a great chance for them to see her as well.
On that note....I wish Kelsey would take these games into consideration, as she could very well show off to UConn AND Tennessee what they missed out on!!!!
Brit vs. Maya will be awesome. I also think that a whole spring/summer of DeMoss working with AG will produce a great matchup with Charles....not to mention COKIE!!!!
Wow, getting toooo excited i guess. I should slow down......
wow, even better! props to whoever thought of this idea and put these teams together. it will be a great showing for WCBB. 4 great programs in action. one heck of a double-header!
Texas Tech was the only team in the Big 12 South last year not to make the NCAA tourney, so I'm surprised they would get the nod over Baylor and A&M in this event. Granted, they may surprise this season, but right now, they're the only Big 12 South team not ranked in the Top 25. Next season seems so far away, so a lot can happen within a program. Many think Curry may not survive until next season if Tech brings up the rear again in the South.
We seem to have problems in Lubbock, so I just want a win there in a couple of weeks, and I'll be happy.
