Texas v. KSU Game Thread

Through 2 1/2.

It seems both teams are trying to get the record for most hits without any runs so far.

Mildcats not looking so sharp, either. We dodged a huge bullet in the top of the third as K-State started the inning off with back-to-back singles. However, back-to-back pop-ups, followed by a lineout to left, get us out of the inning unscathed.

Someone please tell Kevin Keyes not to stare at strike three with one out and a runner on third. Sheesh.

We dodged a bullet in the top of the third. KSU got the first two on. KSU popped up a bunt, then popped out to short and lined out to right. I would really like for the Horns to get some runs and take the pressure off Jungman.

Anyone have a link to Wheat Aggy starter Vogel's stats this year? K-State's site just lists last year's stats, when opposing hitters pounded him to the tune of a .374 average against.

Looked like that pitch hit the base of Jurica's bat, but I'm not complaining. Would've been a freakish strikeout had the home plate ump called it so.

E6 scores another for K-State, though it was a tough bounce for Loy to handle.

Jungmann digging himself a hole nearly every inning.

Keyes starts the bottom of the fifth with an off-the-wall double to center. Hernandez up.

Hernandez sac bunts Keyes over to third. One on, one out for Connor Rowe.

Rowe drills an 0-2 pitch to left to score Rowe! One on, one out, for torrid Torres.

Vogel starting to look wild. Conference on the mound with a 2-0 count on Torres.

Torres smokes a liner to center that is caught for out No.2.

Tucker lifts a routine fly ball to right. To the sixth, the game is tied, 2-2.

Wish we could've gotten a hit or walk there to bring Belt to the plate.

What the **** is Kansas State made of -- ******* kryptonite? They just always manage to handle us.

Jungmann remains on the hill for the top of the sixth.

Taylor guns down the first batter, gives up a single, and then Rowe makes a diving catch in center for out No.2.

Grounder to second for out No.3. To the bottom of the sixth with the score still knotted at 2-2.

C'mon, bats. It's time to string a few hits together!

The good news? Belt starts us off.
