Texas v. Kansas this year...

is going to only add more fuel to what is growing into a great, great rivalry in college basketball. We know KU is going to bring in talent no matter what, and with the talent Barnes continues to bring in this rivalry is going to just get better and better as long as both Barnes and Self stick around.

Andy Katz, ESPN's resident Texas pumper(exaggerating somewhat but when we are supposed to be good he's usually the one leading the bandwagon from the start on ESPN), is pumping this year's game as the "Game of the Year".

Could easily determine the #1 overall seed, will probably determine the Big 12 and the only thing better would be if we got a round 2 in the Big 12 tournament title game.

Definitely one of the best played and usually close rivalry games the last few years(excluding 04-05 when we were destroyed by injuries, and 05-06 when they were destroyed by graduation/early entries).

Pittman/Aldrich matchup is the key.
If one of them gets into foul trouble, the other will likely dominate whatever backup comes in.

I'm pretty sure that Katz wrote the page on Texas in the new ESPN college hoops encyclopedia, as it states that Kansas is Texas's biggest basketball rival. A case can be made, but I'm not there yet... he obviously is.

Perhaps I am the exception, but my dislike of OU basketball is not even remotely close to what it is in football. But then the history of the storied football rivalry long precedes the Big 12 and any basketball rivalry.

Definitely not Arkansas. Maybe it was at one point, but certainly hasn't been since the big XII formed.

I dunno any basketball program which talks more **** about Texas than Arkansas to this day. Even when A&M was "a basketball school," their players and coaches were humble even if their fans weren't.

Inverted Hook 'em in our own house anyone? Conference lines be damned, I love seeing the horns beat up on piggy in basketball.
