I frankly didn't think we'd even be close to the Top 25 this year. Only two tough games down, and the Big 12 is rather competitive this year, but impressed with what we've done so far with our personnel.

With a win over Rice, we will head into the conference 11-2. It'll be tough, but even if we finish 9-9, then the will be 20-11 heading into the conference tournament. I believe that will be good enough to make the tourney.

I wouldn't have believed it before the season, I thought Barnes was toast. It is almost as if he is coaching like his job depended on it.

I keep hearing everybody saying the Big 12 is going to be tough.And I record want be that good.I look at a lot of Men's College Basketball.These are the Teams, that will be at the Top of the Big 12

I feel like the team will have a good record in the Big 12.

Considering you have four teams ranked in the top 16 and OU at #26 I would say it looks pretty tough going into league play.

Right now, I would expect the results of Texas in the Big XII this year to be:

Swept by:

KU
OSU
ISU
BU

Texas sweeps:

TCU
Tceh
WvU
KSU

Texas splits with:

OU

Give or take a brain fart by Texas with one of the bottom dwellers, or a game like they played at NC against one of the top group, that would result in a 9-9 league record (suggested by an earlier poster above).

That would be a respectible result this year with grey-hair Holmes as a Junior and pretty much all the rest Frosh and Sophs.

I think, I hope, that this team continues to grow together. Looks like it. They're going to lose a bunch of games this year because the top of the Big XII is really, really good, but as long and the Horns play tough all game and play together they can at least stay on the court with those teams.

If so, I don't think anyone would want them in a 3/14 or 4/13 or 5/12 or so matchup in the first round of the NCAAs.

This is a fun team to watch so far.

Rick Barnes seems like a really nice guy and I wish him the best. I know he's a big Barry Manilow fan and hopefully he'll be singing "Looks Like We Made It" after the season is over.
