Texas uniforms

Most don't care about uniforms like I do, and that's fine, but I like talking uniforms so I thought I'd make this thread for others who would too.

Texas has new uniforms this season. They are the template of the ones the team wore towards the end of last season. The one thing that bugged me about them (that the number font did not go at all with the school font) has been fixed.
 
Perhaps the biggest news is something I have been bugging DeLoss to do for awhile: a silver/grey alternate.

I have been going to Texas games since I was born in 1982 and I used to love it when the team wore silver uniforms for big games (even though they were Reebok).

I have wanted Texas to start doing this again for a while and am glad to see that they are. I believe Nike started doing this for MSU and tOSU as well a couple seasons agao.

They grey alts are available (authentic and replica jerseys and shorts) at the CO-OP. I'll try to post pics in a bit.
 
Also, for those interested, the team will be wearing several different nike shoes in burnt orange/white including the Zoom Kobe V.

Some of the Texas shoes will be available for purcahse.

I generally don't care what we wear as long as we don't invoke the curse of the black uniforms.
 
Watching the game now and their shorts aren't nearly as baggy as in the past. As a matter of fact, they are less baggy than Navy's and most other teams I have seen.

Maybe the equipment guy washed them in hot water.
 
I prefer the old outline block that we last used when KD was still around. The block font used after that was out of proportion.
 
Haven't seen the greys in a while. I liked that look when Terrence Rencher and BJ Tyler were the Runnin' Horns.
 
I have several nice "Texas" shoes (running, basketball and football), but I think last year's KD's might be my favorite.
 
I have a hard time reading the numbers on television... can't tell a 3 from a 5. Part of it is because I am getting old, but I wish the numbers were a little wider...
 
I can't get over that font. It is by far the worst thing I have ever seen. UT Athletics rolls with block letting, let's keep it that way.

I don't mind the font - it's kinda Texas-y. I also didn't mind the block font. What I did mind was the uniforms we wore towards the end of last season that had the new font for Texas and the old font for the numbers. That looked terrible.

The Texas font on the baselines has also changed to more closely resemble the new font on the uniforms, but is not quite the same.

no confirmation, but I'd be surprised if we didn't. We sued to wear them, nike has made them for several schools recently (MSU, UCONN and UNLV off the top of my head) and I'm not sure why they'd sell replicas (and authentics) if we weren't gonna wear them.

I don't think they look good, but I used to love when we wore them when I was a kid, so I am for it.

the shorts don't look as baggy, still big and loose but less like a circus clown pants

What is the outline on the back? is it just mesh that wicks?
The TV cameras haven't focused long enough for me to see exactly what it is.
