Texas Themed Dinner Music

I need some help. I want to make a CD of background music for a sit down dinner. The music can fit either a Tex-Mex theme or Texas barbecue theme but remember that we are talking only about background music at the table. Can you all help me come up with some stuff by various Texas artists?

Some of my favorite tracks with Texas in the title:

Texas Bound Again - Harris and Rhyden
Northeast Texas Women - Jerry Jeff Walker or Ed Burleson
Lone Star Blues - Delbert McClinton
Somewhere Down in Texas - Jason Boland and the Stragglers
Texas Woman - Tommy Alverson
Texas Talkin' - Todd Fritsch

For some collections of good Texas-themed background music, you might try "Step Inside This House," by Lyle Lovett or pretty much any Brian Burns album.

Most Eric Johnson (especially the instrumentals) would be good background music - Trademark, Steve's Boogie, Cliffs of Dover.

I agree. Anything SRV, but don't forget Willie.
Other notables:
ZZ Top (Early)
Jimmie Vaughan or The Fabulous Thunderbirds
Janis Joplin
George Jones
Waylon Jennings
Leadbelly
T-Bone Walker
Texas Tornados, Floco Jimenez and my man Freddie Fender.

There's a lot of Tish Hinojosa songs that would work exceptionally well as dinner background.

More Willie: "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground," "Hello Walls," "Funny How Time Slips Away"

SRV- "Texas Flood"

"Miles and Miles of Texas" - Bob Wills or Aleep At The Wheel

Robert Earl Keen

He has major Holiday songs, romantic songs, upbeat/humorous songs and of course The Road Goes On For Ever And The Party Never Ends.

Don't count out Norah Jones.
