Texas team this year?

OK, guys, being in Lincoln I haven't seen Texas play AT ALL this year (the one game you had on FSN we didn't see up here b/c of MVC basketball that same night).

I can tell you this - your pitching will have to be GOOD this weekend, because ours is VERY good (THANK YOU Eric Newman).

So, what's your team look like this year?

Probably as talented a team as Augie has had in years, but has run into (at least) three problems I can see so far:
1) Starting pitching is struggling
2) Defense sucks (but is getting better)
3) Kyle Russell is in a monumental slump (28 HRs last year, 1 this year)

Much of the guys that will play key roles in an Omaha run are very young or have little experience. Texas may not play its best baseball until May, which may mean a lesser regular season but could mean a huge postseason.

Please erase the whole defense sucks but is improving sentiment...5 errors tonight

Two other points I'd add are
4) Bullpen depth is unreal
5) The freshmen are awesome

I'll say one thing ... this team has power like no team I've seen at Texas. Every batter has the capability to leave the yard ... Keyes, Russell, Belt, Moldenhauer, Belt, Rupp, Clark, Danks, Torres.

This will be key for us.

Seasons past we've struggled in games due to lack of hitting, but when you can play a game like last night, it's refreshing.

We only scratched out 6 hits ... but 2 left the yard. One a 3 run bomb.

Nebraska is always a good team and you say their pitching is great but so far outside of Stanford and a couple of other teams their schedule is weak.

Big 12 strength of schedule to date (March 24th)

Oklahoma St #40
Nebraska #42
Texas Tech #43
Kansas State #63
Baylor #72
Missouri #77
Texas #80
Olkahoma #96
Texas A&M #127
Kansas #131
