TEXAS-TCU GAME WEEK

I'm not as good at this as Godz, but didn't see where he did it and figured this game warranted one...

Two things to start it off..

Quentin Johnston, TCUs rising star receiver. was a one time Longhorn take who ultimately chose the frogs to the surprise of many. He was out last week with an apparent ankle injury but will likely be back for this week's contest. If so, expect Watts to draw the assignment I would think.

Of note also is a reminder that Bryan Carrington now holds a prominent position similar to the one he held here, and I know there are some mixed feelings as well as some strong feelings about BC. He has been very active and influential for the toads. I am sure he will get a special seat right alongside Quentin's family along with an over the top welcoming for the upcoming visit.

Look, I've been saying since before the KSU game that TCU is overrated and living a charmed life. I agree that Bijan goes off on this suspect defense and we mudhole TCU playing the most complete game since OU. This team has a knack for being ready for the big games.

Dykes seems to have a penchant for second half adjustments. Sark and co better be ready.

I agree Bijan could have a big night against their run D.

Great to be playing in a really meaningful game this late in the season with national attention and implications. ..and with Anthony Hill watching.
(Sark better get him to commit before the second half lol ..jk)

Thanks, Rain. Been having some health issues lately so not as active for awhile.

I would like to ask for everyone's prayers. As you may know, my wife and the forever love of my life is a Frog. TCU is 9-0 and ranked #4 which means they could be in the playoffs if they go undefeated the rest of the season. So, please pray that, when we win, I don't do my traditional victory dance screaming, "Who's yo daddy now?!"

Hope you are feeling better.

agreed. the biggest issue for me is whether the offense is effective for all four quarters.
The biggest issue for me is staying calm in front of my young impressionable son and not freaking out and going ape hitting or throwing or punching or kicking or breaking anything yelling WHY?!? WHY?!? WHY?!? OH, WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Injuries:

Max Duggan QB - calf (not that bad)
he may not be quite 100%, but it sounds like he's good to go.
he's probably at least 90%, maybe nearing 100%
This dual threat QB can both run and pass well.

Marcel Brooks LB - out
LSU transfer LB is gone for the season

Quentin Johnston WR - ankle, practicing some now and will play on Saturday. Total stud WR, probably the best in the conference.
He didn't practice until Wednesday this week at the earliest, so the injury could still be hampering him a fair amount.
Sounds like he will play on Saturday--probably not near his 100% level though. Q. Johnston's 70% is better than most WR's 100%.

"You think Cousins* is the best BBQ in town???? You've got to be kidding me Ref!?!?!? I suppose that next you'll tell me Dickey's is running in a close second? I bet you look forward to games in Austin so you can eat at Bill Miller's!!! I bet you even bring your own bottle of ketchup to use as sauce. What's the matter with you, ref?!?!?"

*actually a pretty good place imho,, although there are certaily better BBQ joints in Cowtown.

We will lift up a game-day prayer for good behavior from you after the vicktree... after all, the Frogs have not been doing this well in a LONG time.

A piece of game watching advice: be ready at any time to quickly duck when she throws the remote control or the nearest lamp at you! o_O

Cannot help but wonder what the refereeing will be like in this game late in the season with a Big12 unbeaten in it.

Johnston is a man among boys. If healthy I don’t think our secondary will handle him.

Yep. Johnston is one of the best WR in the nation. We’ll see if we can contain him when he’s only at 80% or whatever he’s at.

I anticipate favoritism for Frogs and disdain / bias toward leaving Big 12 UT.

Think about it, frogs leading the conference and chance to make NC playoff!

What say you?
