Go Horns!

A little sloppy to open up, but we’ll stomp em.

Love that alley oop we go to a time or two per game.

Our D is relentless. Another sign of a well-coached team.

2nd Alley OOP!!!!!!!!!!!

Kai is playing well as usual.

Lead cut to 7 in favor of horns. Texas playing lazy. Not getting back in position and letting back door cuts/fast breaks. On offense playing hero ball - little ball movement.

Texas just has too many athletes. 6 minutes left - 14 point Texas lead.

Andrew Jones with 11 points - mostly just beating his man with his speed. Brown with a bunch of points and rebounds and blocks. Just too talented for Texas State

This is certainly shaping up to be Shaka’s most talented and capable team in his time at Texas and they certainly seem to have that “it” desire to accomplish something. The proof will be a winning conference record and a top four finish in the Big XII along with something more than a cup of coffee in the NCAA tournament. I am still skeptical only because of past performance, because everything so far this year has been positive. And yes Lowell and Lance were doing their best Bill Walton’s most of the broadcast.

The way announcing is going, pretty soon we'll have some of those chatty women from daytime tv shows (Good Morning America, etc.) talking about their usual stuff. There just happens to be a basketball game being played on the screen in the background.

But so what?

I'll gladly take another win.

5-1

#13 in the nation.

Brown is the emerging young superstar--not to take anything away from Kai or the others. Bamba is the last shot blocker of Brown's caliber that I can recall. Hope he sticks around for 4 years. Same with Kai and all our lads.

I think Texas State can make a Sun Belt run this year. They are quick and seem to shoot well. I really like the way they're doing the conference schedules with back-to-backs against each team each weekend.

Agree with all you said. We really do wish they would stay. But we know they won’t. Greg is gone after this year, Kai is too. Sims is also.
There will be playing time for the youngsters next year.

Bamba was a great shot blocker, but Jaxson Hayes was more recent. (Mo had 3.7 blocks per game, while Jaxson was at 2.2) Brown is currently at 1.2, and I expect that to rise as his minutes increase.

Greg Brown:
First 4 games - 0.5 blocks/game
Next 4 games - 2.5 blocks/game

Brown is getting about 5 minutes per game more playing time in the last 4 contests and is picking up fewer personal fouls (one may explain the other, no?). Clearly he is growing into the college game very quickly, and is showing us some beast-mode flashes along with good consistent play.
