TEXAS SOCCER....

...seems like they are going to have a painful year. We lost too many good players and I don't think we have been recruiting very well.

I don't think UT soccer will ever be relevant. Sweet 16 is not good enough for a school like Texas.

Good news this past weekend Cuernos! The ladies beat Louisville 2 -1 and Kentucky 2 - 0. They are getting better as the season goes on I am sure they will get it together. Well Done Ladies!

great to see the team get a couple more wins under their belts. this is definitely a young squad but they seem to coming together nicely and playing with a lot more intensity the last few outings. keep it up horns!

Not this year. The direction of this porgram (and softball) is disturbing. The ladies need to step up their game.

It is just very distubing. I mean.....Petrucelli won an NC and Notre Dame!!! He had very good teams up there. Why is it that he is not getting there here in TEXAS.

Our volleyball team hit rock bottom several years ago, but every year they kept getting better and better and last year they reached the Final 4 in a very long time. Now Elliot has continued to have very good recruiting classes.

The soccer team did get better by beating A&M several times when they hadn't beaten them at all before, making the sweet 16 several years.....but that's it. Petrucilli has been here for a long time.....why is he not able to recruit good classes consistently? Why are we losing to TCU, New Mexico, St. Mary's.......ST, MARY'S?!?!?!?

I think the Big 12 is going to have a field day with TEXAS and every team is going to enjoy it!!!!!

Softball.......see soccer above...

Be patient. We may have a not so good year this year but remember we have some young player. Things are bound to get better when they get experience. GO HORNS!

Lots of injuries have taken a toll. Something like 7 girls injured. Lets hope they can pull out wins in conference. Begins tonight against Oklahoma.

Hook 'em ladies

Nice win for the Horns to open conference play. I agree with Bill, the squad is very young, and will only get better. After going 1-3 to open the season the team has won three of their last five. And Washington State was the only bad loss as the squad played undefeated New Mexico close, losing 1-0. Injuries must be an issue because top recruit Fortune hasn't been in the lineup for the last six matches. BTW does anyone know when she is expected back? I don't know about GK being the problem, though. I haven't seen any games but both keepers were among the best in their respective classes (I think Gaul was one of just two or three named to the Parade All-American Team). More likely is the team is still adjusting to the loss of two of the best defenders in the country. Let's hope the team gets healthy and players continue to develop...great way to open Big 12 action, Horns!

Great win for the Horns as KU was a top 20 team. And Colorado lost so just one game shy of the half-way point in the Big 12 season and the Horns are one of three undefeated squads remaining in the conference race. Nice job from the goalie who made 7 saves during the match. A lot of tough games ahead but things looks promising considering the youth of the squad, and the number of players with injuries. Keep it up, Horns!

Not withstanding injuries, this weekend was the best the Longhorns have looked all season. Both games were well played and everyone seems to be connecting their passes better. Plus we should be getting a few hurt players back shortly.

Hope this positive trend continues! Keep up the good work ladies.

Horns win again, this time vs. Chicago Loyola 2-1. After a dismal 1-4 start to the season the team has gone 5-2-2 in their last nine outings, including five contests in a row without a loss! And the Horns are now one of just two Big 12 squads that have yet to record a loss in the conference race.

The team has six tough matches to go prior to the Big 12 tourney. Keep it up and finish strong, Horns!!

Cuernos I know you have been accused of being a troll and maybe from another team but I have always given you benefit of the doubt. But this post today makes me wonder. You started out talking to Texas. Not we were doing so good. And you ended it with a negative comment. Now I wonder. Instead of Great Try Longhorns! Fightn and win the next game you went negative. I think maybe the others are right. You need to convince me now.

Anyway keep fighting Ladies! Do better next time!

Not a great result today, but we're only half way thru the Big 12. 5 games left to make a run at the conference title. If we could get at least 2 of starters back I think it would back a HUGE difference.

Stay focused ladies.

Bill....

I might be negative, but believe me...I am a huge soccer fan and this program should not be in the position they are in....EVER. UT should not be tying with MU, BU and it most definitely should not be getting beat by OSU. TECH beat OSU!!!

You are giving me the benefit of the doubt??? How about giving our women's team "the benefit of the doubt" the first few years the program got started.....but not 12-13 years later!!! That is just not acceptable for a school like TEXAS.

Whether we are playing a lot of underclassmen or even a full team of freshmen......they SHOULD be better than any team in New Mexico or TCU or St. Mary's.

Do you think there wouldn't be any "negative" people on this board if UT Football was always just mediocre???

I realize we have injuries...I realize we graduated great players....BUT we should be at a point now were we reload and THAT IS NOT HAPPENING.

This is just me being frustrated with a sport and a program that should be great and established by now.

It is simple....

you don't get overly excited when your kid comes home with straight A's. It is expected out of them to come home with those grades. But you better believe that if they come home with D's and F's....something is going to be said!!!!

Same thing with TEXAS....they are supposed to win!!!

for texas soccer to beat a top 20 team Kansas....it is not a big deal. We were ranked higher than them when the season started.

How would the fans have responded on this board had TEXAS lost to CU last Saturday? Do you think people wouldn't be here saying something "negative"? What about this Saturday. We are #3 and OU is #20. There's going to be a meltdown if we lose to OU.

Unless you are out there supporting all other teams for TEXAS....you have nothing to say to me. I have been there when volleyball was down, when Mira and Bethany were the only bright stars on terrible teams, when we had Kelly Wilson on the soccer team and nobody else to help her out.

If you keep clapping for this team that is 6-6 with very tough matches coming up....then you go ahead.

We are never going to get to a point where TEXAS athletes want to go to UT and play soccer for TEXAS. Petrucelli cannot keep Texas talent here.....as seen with Courtney Barg, Haley Ford, and Melissa Henderson. Great players who decided to play in the state of Indiana!!!

Interesting that you don't take issue my main assertions, or what I say about your true motivation for posting on this board. And true fans do get excited when their teams win, or get "straight A's" as you put it. I think most would disagree that beating a top 20 squad isn't a big deal, in particular given the rough start to the season. If you were a true fan you would have been encouraged by the squad's run of 5 games without a loss and being one of three undefeated teams left in the Big12 race. Would you rather the team have lost 5 in a row and sit last in the conference? Oh yeah, of course you would have....then you could have posted every couple of days instead of waiting almost three weeks. As usual you disappeared completely when things were going well and were back the instant the squad lost. And you haven't supported the other programs you mentioned. In fact you attacked the VB team under your previous persona and made all kinds of insinuations about the program and coaches...and then had nothing else to contribute once the squad returned to premier status. Most fans are happy when a team wins a conference or national title, or makes a final four, but you have never made a congratulatory or positive post. You have made plenty of positive posts about other schools, however, even when they weren't winning...or more importantly, lost to the Horns! You focus exclusively on any team that is going through a rough patch, or loses, and then move on once the programs does well or wins. In the past you have posted innuendo about coaches and highlighted any player that transfered or recruit that signed with another program. Most of your insinuations have been unsubstantiated and off the mark and solely designed to cast aspersions and harm the respective Texas program in question. Moreover you have never said anything positive when a top recruit or player-of-year signed with the Horns even though this has happened with many teams on many occasions. Anyone who relentlessly attacks the Horns, and only comments when they lose, and who consistently compliments other schools isn't a fan. Continue to post whatever you want but please be honest about your true affiliation and purpose on this board.

It is pretty obvious we aren't going to be on the same page.

Like I said...I expect my kids to bring home straight A's and they aren't going to be getting a party every six weeks for doing what they are supposed to be doing.
