Texas Pitching Rotation for OKC ... (UPDATE)

Has anyone heard/read anything ?

I thought Craig Way hinted that Augie may go with Workman on Weds, but can we afford this risk ? I know Workman/Wood would have to go on 4 days rest if they pitch Wed/Thurs, but there is a bunch at stake this weekend.

Our pen only went like 4 innings over the weekend, maybe trot out Chance/Austin with a 5 or 6 inning limit ?

Riley is not even close to being back to normal. Workman would certainly be our #4 starter as of today.

I think we'll see Chance, but he'll be on a pitch limit I'm sure.

Craig and Keith mentioned during the postgame Sunday that Augie was hinting on using Riley for Wednesday's start and if not him then Workman. With Ruffin's slight blister, I'd give him an extra day and pitch him Thursday, because we know he'll be going Friday in our first game of the regional.

Chance needs the time to get that blister healed or we'll really miss him.

Ruffin listed as probable starter for tomorrow ... in my experience, TexasSports.com has been pretty dead on in terms of starters this year.

To host a regional Texas probably needs two wins so that means setting up the rotation to give best shot at that. I dont think the usual attitude of not caring about the conf. tourney will be in play this time.

It looks like we are going to go with Chance. Riley has been throwing 88-91 lately and may be close to being ready.
