the baylor coach said that he wasnt too impressed with our hitting but i think they do...just ...enough most nights. i would like to see a little more but it has to be hard to get up for every game when you know our pitching is going to pull their asses out of the fire most nights

They are in a bit of a lull right now, but as you said they are doing just enough.

When your pitching staff is this dominating, you don't have to score 8-10 runs a game, 3-4 will work just fine. Figured the Baylor coach would already know this

Yep. We cannot excuse our performance at the plate just because we have a great pitching staff. Sooner or later, we are going to run into a team that can hit us, and when we do, we better be able to score more than 3 or 4 runs.

True. But I've heard this argument below.

Turn the clocks back to Omaha in 2002...and look at the outcome. The team will come through when they need to come through and when we least expect it.

Well, i guess some people on here just need something to ***** about.

Didn't we hear the same crap last year? Or i guess i could say, every year?

It seems kind of silly and cheap to make any sort of criticism of a team that just swept your *** while on a 20-win streak.

I don't "need" something to ***** about. I'm just not going to ignore that we've been struggling at the plate or say that it doesn't matter because we have a great pitching staff.

We lost to Houston 1-0 because Brandon Workman couldn't get any run support, despite a phenomenal outing on the mound. Taylor Jungmann has had a few good starts (Iowa, Kansas, A&M) that required extra innings because the offense didn't back him up. Let's not pretend that teams with great pitching can't lose games (even to bad teams) because of poor offensive production.

We have made some not so good pitchers look like Cy Young winners, which could pose a problem when we face serious pitching down the road. And as far as "bitching" goes, I don't think it is a bad thing to point out our areasof concern. After all, we haven't won anything yet. Besides, it only means that this team has room to improve and can be even better...kinda scary.
