Texas Offense ;05

Most points, but I'm not sure if it was the most points ever. I think it was most points post WW2

EDIT: Highest ppg average since WW2

When you've got a QB like Andre Ware, an RB like C-Spoon, a WR corps with the likes of Hazard in a Run-and-Shoot system, a schedule that includes Baylor, fresh-off-the-Death-Penalty-SMU, Temple, UNLV, and Rice, AND you're deliberately trying to break scoring records regardless of score and time remaining, those records are a bit easier to come by. Those other teams in that 50+ ppg list didn't try to set records, they just did it. Think of what our numbers would be if VY was chunking bombs to 1st team WR's in those 4th quarters against teams like LaLa, Rice, Missouri, Baylor, et al where the result of the game was no longer a debate.

I know Texas led the nation that year in scoring offense during the regular season (Texas scored 50.9 PPG, if I remember correctly; USC was a close second with 50 PPG).

The '05 Horns did do something unique in that they scored 40 or more points in 12 of 13 games (including their final 11), the most ever by a 1-A team in a single season.
