Certainly deserved. Great year for the Horns.

As for the rest of the Big 12, I think these final rankings are reflective of what we saw out of the Big 12. That is, Kansas and UT were clearly a notch above everybody else. After that there were a pack of good, but not great teams (KSU, OU, Aggy, even OSU and Baylor). On any given night, they could beat each other (or even sneak up on Kansas or Texas), but not really a Top 25 / Sweet 16 typed of team.

For some reason final rankings in basketball don't carry the same weight as they do in football (I guess it's the playoff system), but #5 is a truly amazing accomplilshment for this team. Congrats to Coach Barnes for getting the most out of this group and for making us such a top-tier program! #5 is fantastic!!

In finishing at No. 5, they ended up at their peak in the coaches' poll. They also were ranked No. 5 from the time they beat UCLA until they lost to Michigan State.
