Texas needs to advertise Colt

Colt's name is in the middle of the pack with regards to Heisman talk. Methinks Texas needs to all but Oregon Mr. McCoy in the media. He doesn't need a NYC billboard, but he needs to get some serious recognition.

It can take just one bad game for your stock to go down and if you ask me, Tebow's stock just took a hit the Feds can't revive. Awful performance by him against Tennessee despite the lopsided win.

Max Hall did wonders against UCLA... I'm sorry, it was UCLA. His performance was mediocre this past week against a very an overmatched Wyoming team.

Daniels is the only two I can see ahead of Colt right now. I'd give Colt a slight lead over Bradford. Very slight.

Maclin, Crabtree, Harrell are out. Hill from Wisconsin had to have been joke. He was decent against Akron. Pitiful ever since. NO defender will ever win again. The GA running back isn't having Heisman numbers. He's out.

Mark Sanchez. Great leadership. It's hard to fail when you're surrounded by NFL talent. I'm not even sold him really, but his scoring and big wins and numbers are enough for him to get the hype. As well as playing for UeSCpn

Bottom line, Colt not cracking the top 5 this early in the season is ridiculous.

I admit to having some questions about Colt coming into the season.

Now, holy horse manure. This kid is awesome. Some big tests ahead, but you can't help but be very confident about those games also.

Colt could not be playing better football. He had more than a few doubters on this forum and elsewhere. Now, he is nothing short of our best player. Team Leader.

Small town Texas kid named Colt has the keys and knows what to do. He has a suddeness that he didn't used to have.

I wouldn't trade him for Stafford, Daniels, Mustain, Sanchez - anyone.

Colt McCoy!

Eh, it's still way early. Just wait until Colt plays against the 2 other heisman hopefuls Bradford and Daniel. If he plays in those 2 games the same way he has been playing so far this season, the media will be all up on his nuts. You'll see.

We need to beat Arky, CU, OU, Mizzou before he gets any legit talk but if that all happens it will come naturally anyways. Keep him quiet for now, I like this team playing as if everyone thinks their going to lose.

I say save the money for next year. Colt will not be put ahead of Daniels this year barring an apocalyptic collapse, which I don't think will happen. He has taken a mediocre Mizzou to the top 10 and kept them there. He is a senior and has had the attention of the national media for a year or more. He is the heisman frontrunner IMHO and will remain there until he gives it up.

Save the money and get the Colt hype started at the end of this season, so he is preped for a run next year. Besides he should put up even better numbers then. We will have an even better o-line, all of our young WR studs will have experience and hopefully our run game will be improved. Colt 09 for Heisman, start printing the T-shirts.

In the absence of a running game for Texas to beat OU and Missouri, Colt will need to have 800+ yards of total offense combined for those two games and outperform Bradford and Daniel head to head in contests that all the talking heads should be paying attention to. If he does that he should move to the top of the list. Staying there will require that UT keep winning. I just don't see Colt winning the Heisman this year unless Texas looks like it is in a position to reach the national championship game.

Next year is a slightly different story since Colt has a shot at breaking NCAA career records for wins, starts, TDs passing, TDs accounted for, pass efficiency, completion percentage and possibly some others.
