Texas Men's Basketball All Access Show

If you haven't seen this, you should watch. It will give you a good idea what our new coach and the basketball program is all about now. I really appreciate how coach Smart is willing to get involved, by physically working out with the team, running and doing drills. Leading by example has to impress the players and make them want to follow a coach like that.

It sure seems that Coach Smart has the team pointed in the right direction. Their is some real talent on this team and some shooters that can fill it up from the outside.

Maybe this can get the inside game going, with some badly needed scoring from our centers.

Yes, it appears Bellmont did not approve of the entire show being on youtube. If they reshow it on LHN, it's a must see.

Here is the part about the freshmen, they put this on texassports.com. I would think they won't remove it. I can't embed it, but here is the link.

Can Hornfans get the rights to embed texassports.com video? Seems it would be pretty useful.

It's the second story on the page.

I know we said a long time ago there would be no math on the new Hornfans or that Dion would get an app for that.

After watching that video again, I am wondering about what Coach Roose told the freshman. He said they would run for 20 seconds and rest for ten seconds. They would run for four minutes and that would amount to 8 runs of 20 seconds.

Now I am no math major, but I have watched "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader." A second grade math question on the show, says that there are 60 seconds in a minute. So to phrase it in story book form like they do, if the freshman run for 4 minutes at 20 second intervals, how many intervals would they have to run?

So three 20 second intervals would be equal to 1 minute. So to run for 4 minutes, you would multiply 4 x 3. That comes out to twelve 20 second runs by my calculations, not using a calculator.

Is this some new motivational way of thinking by the coaches?:smile1:

20 second run +10 second rest = 30 seconds

Do this 8 times and you have a total of 4 minutes.
