Now that it is offficial, I'd like to welcome Jean Andersen and David Holiner to 40 acres!! The two will make a huge impact to the roster. Holiner had a bad back injury and is prolly still feeling his game, I think if he can come back to form, he could be a 5/6 guy.

Jean Andersen could potentially be good enough to play 3, but w/out College experience yet and Kellen Damico's play, I prolly see him as a 4.

1. Dimi
2. Ed
3. Kellen
4. Jean
5. & 6. Zavala/Holiner/Mladenov

This team is gonna be good. Hope you guys can come out to support them, cuz this is a potential NCAA team.
BTW.. Whitehead's development has been really great. He's doing well as a freshman and hope he keeps it up. Even Camillone and Chen are playing pretty well. This team is looking good...

I noticed that Jean Andersen was a Illinois commit. I wonder what happened there but glad we ended up with him.

Agreed, this team should be really good.

BTW....
The women's team should be better than their preseason ranking of #31. Aeriel Ellis is looking solid!

Definitely fortunate to have Jean Andersen here. Illinois had made an announcment last fall about him enrolling to Illinois and it was pretty last minute on the changes...

Illinois is going through a lot. They should be a top 10 team, but one transferred, two went pro, the other is no longer on the squad.

Jean has been playing in the ATP Challenger circuit and has some good results. He's a pretty developed player who I think will get better. I'm excited about him coming in.

Holiner has been training pretty hard leading up to his forty acres appearance. It'll be interesting to see where his progress is.

It will be interesting how 4-6 shakes out in our line-up. I say 5 players are capable of playing. I think Mladenov has a lot of potential too and hope he develops/adjusts quickly.

For women's squad.. a Healthy Vanja Corovic is key!! Come senior yr, I would expect her to be Top 25. For whatever reason Stephanie Davison has hit a funk. She has a ton of potential and would have expected her to play the 3, but she has some hand/wrist injury right now too. The development of Krista/Caroline/Maggie/Amanda is important. They came in with pretty big expectations, and I hope they can finally reach their potential soon. So far, their fall season was pretty promising. Texas is definitely under-rated

Does anyone know how our teams compare with the Aggies this year? I think our men will be awesome from what I understand.

I am really hopeful that both our men's and women's programs will compete for a championship this season. Our men have come close in recent times and are every bit as talented again this year. The past few seasons have been curious ones for the women but I have to think they are going to finally put it all together this time around. I was actually expecting them to do really well last year and I'm not certain what happened. They had five players on the squad (Corovic, Craddock, Damico, Lancaster and Davison) who had all been ranked at one point during the their collegiate careers, and add to this Larsson and Mello and I was hoping for big things..instead they reached a point near the end of the season where not a single player appeared in the rankings. The squad had a good Fall though and Ellis looks very strong, as do several others. Fendick has certainly broght in some good recruits and we have quality depth so I think we will see a major turnaround this Spring. With three players in the newly released rankings and two others having been ranked previously we are certainly better than our #31 team ranking. A squad with that many in the individual rankings would usually be in or near the top 10 but I think we're going to have to prove ourselves given last years' results. I wouldn't be surprised in both men and women make the final four this year.
