There are always good things and bad things that happen in a legislative session, but is there anybody out there that has a major problem with the direction of the State of Texas?

A good friend of mine posted this on Facebook about this moronic display. I think he largely sums it up well:

"I hold no personal animus toward anyone who enters this country in search of work to provide for their family. I was born an American by the grace of God. Were my circumstances different, I can't say I wouldn't do anything necessary to create a better future for my loved ones.

I am, however, baffled that people who have broken our laws and entered our country illegally have the audacity to show up to our Capitol, on Memorial Day, to disrupt regular business at the Texas House and proclaim they are entitled to anything at all. Today's effort was a publicity stunt orchestrated by thuggish labor unions on the last day of session about a bill that already passed.

Many of these protestors held signs boldly proclaiming their illegal-immigrant status. They chanted, "Here to stay," the implication being they aren't here legally and don't plan to go. So one lawmaker calls ICE, the law enforcement agency duly authorized to address illegal immigration, and is immediately threatened by several Democratic colleagues for the grave sin of reporting illegal activity to the designated authority.

These are not your grandfather's Democrats. We have plenty of moderate Republicans, but the Democrats are out of that business these days. Today's Democrats--modern, radical liberals--deplore American sovereignty. Their allegiance is to open borders. They'd be happy to see America dissolve into a vague internationalist regime. That's why when illegal immigrant protestors showed up to shut down the Texas House today, Democrats were eager to incite their lawlessness and physically threaten colleagues who would hold them accountable. Rule of law means nothing to them.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Republicans have all the answers. Far from it. I am saying today's Democratic party holds higher allegiance to non-citizens here illegally than to the rule of law. They favor international concerns over American interests. Under no circumstances does America's sovereignty override political correctness. Modern Democrats are beset by self-loathing, apologetic for our existence, and hell-bent on fundamentally transforming our nation into the international community's whipping boy.

If that doesn't sound all that great to you, I invite you to send these feckless cowards packing wherever you find them."

Open borders + accessible entitlements = death of America

The are plenty of other arguments against open borders that shame it on their own. But the above truth is one that cannot be circumvented.

Uncontrolled immigration with access to entitlements would devastate the economy and fabric of our society 100 out of 100 times.

There is no denying today's Democratic party is hell bent on importing the least sustainable form of socialism ever attempted on Earth.

Every other form attempted to succeed within the confines of one's own citizens and failed violently and miserably. Imagine adding open borders to that equation.

How any middle class American would vote Dem and allow the Gov to seize drastic amounts of their disposal income to pay for citizens of other countries is beyond me.

Dems want open borders. Dems support entitlements for all. Your wallet will fund it. This is not speculation and must be prevented at all costs.

EXACTLY!!! This should be an issue that both sides support. If the Libs stood strong for what's best for America, we wouldn't see this thuggish behavior. But nope, they encourage it and try to block everything to prevent them coming in. The Libs have not put America first in many years.

If that's true, that's pathetic. I don't have a problem with him actually calling ICE. I do have a problem with him pretending to call ICE just to troll.

I can't seem to find a link now but that was stated yesterday as a quote from an ICE spokesperson in one of the articles I read. Then again, none of the articles say that ICE actually showed up either.
