Texas is on top of the league the way I figure it

I've been keeping track of road wins to determine who's the real leader of the conference is and after today that team is Texas with a +4 "road advantage". Check out the link for a matrix with the entire standings.

Yeah. Good stuff.

KU has the best schedule and we have to go to K-State. However, if we win that game, I don't see how we keep from at least tying for it.

Both team have two truly losable games against A&M and KSU. KU hosts KSU but travels to A&M, whereas Texas travels to KSU but hosts A&M.

However, of their other games I consider the next two most losable games for either program to be OU in Austin and Texas Tech on the road, both on UT's slate. It's difficult for me to foresee Texas losing to either Nebraska or OSU in Austin. It's possible, obviously, but I don't envision it. Frankly, Texas Tech at Lubbock is a bit of a stretch given the way Texas matches up with those poor ********, but the Red Raiders are a much more difficult opponent at home, as Kansas found out last year, and KSU and A&M discovered this season.

We'll see. I consider Kansas the favorite at this point, simply because I feel like they have the easier finish, but the win at Baylor did a lot to help even things up a bit along those lines.

I was looking at something yesterday or the day before (maybe CNN/SI) and Baylor's Power Ranking was in the Top 10. Ours was about 16 or so. So Baylor in Waco was a good win for us.

Thanks, Tom Wingo!

So let's take a realistic scenario of KU winning all their games except at A&M, KSU winning all their games except at KU, and Texas winning all their games except at KSU. That would put all three teams at 13-3. If you first have to eliminate KU or KSU, KU would have the edge because they would only have one division loss (at KSU) and KSU would have two losses (at KU, at Missouri). So that gives KSU the 3 seed. That leaves UT and KU, and UT gets the ONE seed because of their head-to-head win. Wow.

But if KU wins out with KSU only losing at KU and UT only losing at KSU, that gives KU the #1 seed with a 14-2 record. With UT and KSU tied at 13-3, KSU gets the tiebreaker for head-to-head, so UT becomes the three seed.
