Texas hits

It was "ok"? WTF? I didn't ask you to give reviews of Texas hits or of those videos. I'm just trying to liven up this wait for the first game..

..jeeze.

I'm perfectly content. I just find "it was ok" a lack of sense in a post that wasn't meant to have an opinion based on it.. It's very simply a few football hits, and me asking if you were ready.

Didn't see Vaher's hit he had on Tech when they tried a fake punt. I remember my tech friends saying that the hit was dirty. I'll never understand why.

Cyber-sarcasm is about as fruitful as playing laser-tag w/ sawn-offs and semi-autos... it's not a lot brighter either..

On another note, 4 hyphens in one sentence. New record.

Everyone is a little testy this time of year

heck i got myself banned for a few days a few week backs for being testy!

heh...lol @ pancake flippin' out...npi.

The "it was ok" wasn't intended as a review of the video or production quality or anything like that. More of a lament of the state of college football in general, and more specifically Texas defensive football, the last several years that leads us to a "big hit" reel with most of those hits on it.

It wasn't that long ago when the vast majority of those "big hits" would have been considered pretty much the norm here in Austin and woulda just been referred to as "tackles". Big hits were something much bigger, and were far more common than they are nowadays.

Well, I'm talkin' about pre-YouTube football, so I can't really just give you a URL.

There was a time, not all that long ago, when an everyday tackle didn't make a hghlight reel. Most of what's on those reels are everyday good tackles. We used to see a lot of truly big hits 'round here. Guess you just had to be there.

Where did I mention "big hits"? I said "Texas hits". Nice assumptions bud. They go very well w/ me flipping out. What you didn't see was that your post made me SO ANGRY that I went and kicked a puppy, then shook a newborn vigorously. That's how upset you made me.

Oh damn, now I'm the victim of using sarcasm in a forum.

err.. I didn't type that bud. Those aren't my vids. I posted them b/c they were Texas hits that should spark you up for the season.

GOOD CALL!

That was the first time I've seen the Vasher hit on the fake punt. Dear lord.
And it wasn't dirty, thats what you get for trying a trick play.

Pancake, I already 'splained myself, although I don't know why. I wasn't directing anything ill toward you...just a general lament about defense.

Then you read two paragraphs and get all hung up on two words, which actually were founded in the video.

Everyone has their opinions & mine is just another one, so if you or anyone else agrees with me or not really doesn't matter to me. I'm not here trying to convince anyone of anything about football. So your reaction is kind of humorous. Please, though, if you want to argue with me or have some kind of "discussion", try to actually address what I'm saying.

Geez. It was just one little 3-word comment directed at nobody. If you're gonna post around here, you're gonna see a lot worse than that.

Back to the subject... yes, texashorne, that Vasher hit was one of many nasty licks he doled out. He's a man.

More of a lament of the state of college football in general, and more specifically Texas defensive football, the last several years that leads us to a "big titts" reel with most of those titts on it. It wasn't that long ago when the vast majority of those "big titts" would have been considered pretty much the norm here in Austin and woulda just been referred to as "boobies". Big titts were something much bigger, and were far more common than they are nowadays.
