This schedule is top notch. This team will be tested big time and will find out who they are as a team quickly. Props to Coach Barnes and Co. for this schedule.

I see 11 non-conference games plus the tournament , so by my count they have their schedule filled. You can't just grab an extra home game becuase you want one. I assume that Villanova is considered a neutral-site game, as Texas already completed a home-and-home with them?

Regardless of all that, it's a pretty good-looking schedule. Of course Michigan State (and isn't that home game #8?) should be on campus, but along with early-season attendance, I'm afraid that's another tired topic.

Not to hijack the thread, but who was the player we had that was from DeLand or there abouts years ago. I seem to remember us scheduling Stetson for this reason in the past. Maybe I'm just getting old. Was it Travis Mayes?

St. Joe's has been pretty good even since the Elite 8 year (and yes they had Nelson and West for that run). They were bounced by OU in the NCAA first round last year. They have 3 starters back including a talented big man in Nivins and both guards.

UT should beat them without much trouble, but probably not a blowout. Their guards could force a lot of turnovers. The game won't hurt our RPI because they'll end up with a decent record in the A-10.

Whatever happens vs. UND, Texas should emerge 2-1 in Maui (either lose to UND/win next game or beat UND/lose to UNC).
