Where - in the downtown area - is the place where the Longhorn faithful to gather to worship?

Thanks - I will pass it along. Do they also go there for basketball and baseball? Not that she will have tons of time - but I know that is the next questions she will ask.

I talked to the manager of Brownstone and he said that every Texas game is shown. I'm going to be in Chicago during the UCF game and he told me to get there no later than noon for the 2:30 game. See ya there. I'll be wearing burnt orange.

In the Texas Exes Game Watch thread I posted a link to above, horninchicago chimed in also mentioning Brownstone. He also included a link to the Brownstone Tavern website. Shoot him a PM if you have any more questions. Sounds like he is a regular at their game watches.

My wife and I were in Chicago for the TCU game and did go to Brownstone Tavern. Due to other activities of the day and some pretty nasty traffic, we didn't wind up getting there until right at gametime (which of course, aggy delayed by a quarter due to their 3 OT ***-kicking of Fresno Community College).

IT WAS A ZOO! It is definitely a Horn hangout on gameday - probably 75% wearing the burnt orange. They have at least nine really nice plasmas. The beer ain't cheap ($15 pitchers of Bock), but the $5 queso is actually mighty fine.

Recommendation - either get there super early and snag a table with waitress service (if you are just hanging out at the bar, prepare to be parched in between re-fills as the 3-4 bartenders are serving drinks for the 250 people in the whole place), OR the secret tip is to snag a table on the outside patio where you can actually see through a window to a TV that is inside. Don't laugh, it worked for us, plus we got a waiter that way and didn't have to stand in line at the bar for 20 minutes for beer like I did for the first round.
