I hope Wednesday is a nice tune-up for the weekend. I cannot wait until Friday.

Amen!!!!!

Let's pray this is the turning point we've been waiting for.

"It's not where you start, it's where you finish.
It's not how you go, it's how you land.
The 100 - 1 shot, some call him a klutz,
Can out run the champion,
All you need is the guts.

"Our final return will not diminsh,
And we can be the cream of the crop.
It's not where you start, it's where you finsh,
And we're gonna finish on top!!!!!"

I heard he threw an armful of bats into the showers and then lit into them for lollygagging in the infield . . . and lollygagging in the outfield.

And what does that make them??

Gee Barton,

Thanks for the lesson....

Let's take reading comp a little further and look at what the story didn't say....

It didn't say that the fire came from ANY of the upperclassmen even though they are upperclassmen. That's my frustration. It says it took a freshman.

I comprehend exactly what the upperclassman was quoted as saying.

That doesn't change my stance on other posts where I have stated very clearly that what this team (and last year too) seemed to lack was an in your face leader or two who got a little pissed about losing. I'm glad it is coming from somewhere...

Show me somewhere it is reported that an upperclassman is stepping up in the leadership department so I can further my reading comp. practice.

The Link

Skip has given us plenty of reason to question him this year but for me the biggest question of all since week two of the season has been "Why isn't he at least using Ruffin as a weekend starter?" If Skip had read the above-referenced post from 7-Feb, this team would be right in the thick of the conference race.

Watching Ruffin at Dell in the fall it was abundantly clear he had "IT" in biblical proportions.

Don't scoff at the importance of leadership from freshmen. It takes the right personality, not a particular number of years on the job. Perhaps the most important personality leading the unexpected drive to Omaha in 2000 was freshman Ryan Hubele (along with senior DJ Jones--a pupil of Skip Johnson's BTW). The most important personalities leading the drive to five championships in 2002 were freshman Huston Street and junior Ryan Hubele.

Someone had to step up and become the leader. Chance showed strength and leadership. Lead away Chance....we're behind you all the way.
