I assume you, or someone, counted both Season and Tounament Championships in BB and Baseball.....since there are 15 and 13 CC in each respectively.

Which brings up a question...... which do you, or anyone, feel is more representative of a Championship, Season or Tournament?

I didn't include tournament titles. I consider that stuff "fluff." And there's nothing wrong with fluff, Texas has a lot of fluff too.

drborange, there are more than 12 to go around since some of them are ties. With no conference championship game, teams can tie for a regular season conference championship in baseball and basketball.

I wouldn't mind seeing a similar list for all sports. Naturally, stuff like track or swimming wouldn't really have a winning percentage. Maybe an average placing? I'm too lazy to do it myself.

Nice work. I think it is also noteworthy that Texas is #1 or #2 in each of the three sports. No one else is near that consistent across all 3 sports. To try and put that in perspective, I assigned an ordinal ranking (e.g. 1 point for first on the list, 2 for 2nd, and so on). Then summed them up:

Ordinal Ranking for the Big 3 American Sports
4 Texas (9 CC) (3 National Championships)
12 Oklahoma (6 CC) (1 National Championship)
14 Nebraska (5 CC) (1 National Championship)
17 Oklahoma State (1 CC)
19 Texas Tech (1 CC)
21 Kansas (8 CC) (1 NC)
21 Missouri
23 Kansas State (1 CC)
23 TAMU (4 CC)
26 Baylor (2 CC)
26 Colorado (1 CC)
28 Iowa State (2 CC)

Texas #1. OU a distant second.

mizzou hasn't won a conference championship in any sport since the big 12 was formed. and last year was the first year they won the north title in football. that's their most significant accomplishment to date.

CrimsonShark,
I kinda agree. We like to add in baseball because it boosts the stats, but it's definitely the weakest of the 3 sports. I've seen some convincing arguments that women's basketball is "bigger" than baseball. But of course, it only matters what you personally care about.

No one is advancing the idea that UT has dominated in football? I suppose this was an FYI then...

I certainly wouldn't be advancing the theory that we have dominated FB when we trail 2-5 in the CC category.

College Baseball (and the College World Series) is seriously better than women's basketball. That may not be saying much, just sayin'...

A) I'm a UT fan, not a Sooner. Are the stats just listing conference play? Then great for Texas.

B) What I was trying to say is that it would be a little easier to have a higher winning percentage if you are playing the holiday and alamo bowl then if your playing in BCS games. I'm glad OU lost, but the competition is a little bit harder.

A more telling stat is if you look at all conference championships in every sport, both mens and womens. I don't know what the numbers are now but a few years ago Texas had as many Conf. championships as the rest of the big XII schools combined. I have not seen current figures but I'm sure it hasn't changed much.
