It's worth noting that we won more medals than any other school in Athens: UT in Athens. And we won even more medals in Sydney, so we may have won the most there as well: UT_all_time_medals.

We didn't win quite as many in Beijing, but if you go athletic sites of the Forbes top 10 olympic schools and search for their medal counts, you'll see that we won more gold medals than just about any other school, including Stanford (stanford_in_beijing), who had the most athletes at the games (more than twice what we had).

We won more gold medals than USC, Arizona, UCLA, Florida, and pretty much anyone else in the top 10 list that I could find. If Michigan counts Phelps they may have been the only school to win more golds.

Edit: If this list is exhaustive, then the most Michigan did is tie us. I'll go ahead and proclaim that we won more gold medals than any other US university in Beijing, except Phelps-igan (with whom we're tied), until someone proves me wrong.

Since Phelps did not compete at Michigan, then should his medals count? If they count his because he is a volunteer coach then UT should count Coventrys.

laphroaig, you're so lame. Thanks for the defensive coordinator....again. Who's your DC now?

I know you goto grad school here, so at least pretend to be a fan.

auburn is a pretty useless university in academic sense. it might as well rename itself an athletic institution. might be more apt.

SEC! SEC! SEC!

homer, other than Vanderbilt, is there an sec university that isn't useless academically?

Muschamp was well thought of before Auburn. I guess Paul Rhoads will be our next DC. Interesting. I should learn more about him.
