Did that guy actually put McDonald's on the list? Forget it. Complete loss of credibility there.
Also, the best classic burger of all time can be found at William's Drive in in Hillsboro, TX. You better know where you are going as they don't even have a sign. It blew down several years ago, but they don't even need one.
Here is how you get there. Take the Corsicana highway exit. It is the exit with the Luv's on the North East Corner. Head West back into town. You almost dead end into Williams. It is walk up service only. No inside dining room. No speakers to order. Just walk up.
Amazing burger that has never been topped by anything else put in my mouth.
the list is in no kind of order, and he is not saying he was going to the best burger places in Texas. he just went to a bunch of different burger places and scored them.
I have been reading this guys stuff for a while. He is just a regular dude that scores places that he has tried. He lives in Houston, so it is a little more Houston-centric. There are plenty of great places that he hasn't tried. I wish he would have chosen Casino over Hut's for his Austin visit, because I am confident it would crack his top five. I think he does a really good job, but Christian Totem's should not be rated higher than Chris Madrids.
ok, I actually read what he wrote about McDonalds and the big mac and I now understand that he didn't 'rank' them. He did review it, and it was awful.
Sorry, I misunderstood his list there.
THEU...William's in Hillsboro...I grew up there, and have to agree...one of the best ever. Even back when it was Tacker's...40 years ago. Damn, I haven't had one of those in a while. Guess I'll have to go visit my MOL, then check out the old haunt.
