Texas AM = Dud

Pete Fiutak — Dud. The team is better than it showed in its season-opening loss to Arkansas State, but the Big 12 is so nasty and the South so tough that it'll be a long year if the offense isn't more creative than it was against the Red Wolves.

Richard Cirminiello — Dud. Could Mike Sherman's tenure in College Station have started any worse? Losing to Arkansas State at home is inexcusable. And this was supposed to be one of the gimmes on a tough schedule.

Matthew Zemek — Dud. Losing to Arky State on the road would be one thing. At home???!!!

Steve Silverman — Dead, embalmed and about to be buried. Mike Sherman didn't have much of an idea of what he was doing in the NFL, and he will get buried in the Big 12. College football is a much more creative game than it is at the pro level, and Sherman is not exactly an idea man. Hope he's renting in College Station.

My personal opinions:

While I agree with each and every post above, my thoughts are not nearly as kind as those above!

If Fran were still running the show, I'd pick aggy to win over UNM in a flash. All he would have to do is run that cute option offense all game long, and rush McGee, Goodson, and Lane. It's called playing to the strengths of the team, what few there are at this point. Which granted, aren't a lot.

Sherman is a wildcard, though. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he found a way to screw this one up.

Two things stand out in recent memory....

- After last weeks game, a poster on TexAgs said he believed they had a good chance to win a game this year.

- And then it was last spring I believe, the aggies won their spring game.

So there's all that going for them. Which is nice.

Rumor has it that if A&M lose their next game, Sherman will be fired and replaced with Sarah Palin !

Their recruiting will really take off once Byrne adds that fifth deck to Dead Dog Field, expanding seating cap. to 150,000.

Heck miller, go ahead and tell us what you're really thinking...

I'd pile on aggy some more too, but I'd rather wait until we win against them again. No matter how bad things get for the gomers otherwise, they're still 2-0 for the last two years against us.
