It is quite possible there are many uninsured children BUT how many are illegal or children of illegals who have not tried to get insurance is some form ( Medicaid or chips).
I think many illegals just prefer to use the emergency room for care.

you are very welcome. your point has some merit but there can be little realistic debate that Perry and company have intentionally kept many Texans from getting insurance. Otherwise, we would be taking the 90% federal subsidy for the medicaid folks. It plays well to the more vicious social darwinists

Well let's look at this article and all the footnotes, please tell me that this is not a liberal organization with an agenda? All those statistics manipulated in such a way that it gets their point across?

The four largest states in that study are also the 4 largest states with illegal immigrants, or 4 out of the top 5 at least.
You don't like Perry, fine, I don't care for him much either but name someone better?

The welfare state was first put in place by the famous Prussian left winger Otto von Bismarck as a way of de railing socialism.
We get extra doses every time there is a riot or two or the noise from the left starts to sound sort of logical. Or if we can de rail the dems' electoral chances-----as when W, the compassionate conservative, ran through the unfunded seniors' drug plan.
We are stuck with the welfare state in some form or the other and as evils go, it is one of the lesser ones in my mind. Get rid of it and watch how quick we go back to cities burning. During th great depression, farmers in Kansas, yes, Kansas, lynched some judges who foreclosed on insolvent farmers. Look it up. The welfare state keeps people from getting desperate.
When people get desperate things get nasty. See the Middle East for an example of how that works out.
The welfare state is the price we pay to be able to drive home at night without a howling mob turning our car over and killing us.
It is one of the ways a government buys legitimacy and you should cruise down to Monterrey or Guadalajara to see what it looks like when a government doesn't have it anymore. On a smaller scale, try Ferguson. And, no, I am not saying rioting is ok, just that it happens when a bunch of people think they are getting hosed.

did you look at the facts surrounding BO's plan?
to raise the threshold for people to receive Medicaid? did you look at the income levels?
did you look at our state's fiscal responsibility after BO's BS plan ended?
Did you ask yourself the reasoning behind BO's plan?

If parents refuse to accept responsibility for their child's care maybe we should just take the child away and put the child into a safer gov't controlled facility.
Certainly not getting subsidized or free medical care suggests the parent's are the best people to be rearing that child.
