Tex to Angels...

Wow. Now maybe they can increase their narrow AL West lead.

He's been rumored to be on the block for a few weeks now. Somehow he wears out his welcome. He'll be able to back in to the playoffs for the first time capitalizing on what the Angels have already established.

1. This validates what a good job Daniels did last year. I know he's ****** some things up, but last year he hit the ball out of the park with the Tex, Gagne and Lofton trades.

2. Tex just strikes me as a huge ********. I will now pull against the Angels to win it all.

3. I think Mike Scocia (sp) is the best manager in the bigs and the 2nd best isn't in the same ballpark. That guy gets more out of his talent than anyone in the bigs. The guy is worth a run a game just by sitting his fat *** in the dugout. He alone makes me like the Angels even though I watch them kick our *** every year.

The Angels must be totally convinced that one more bat will help them win it all this year. Clearly Tex is the ultimate "rent-a-player" for the Angels. He's an unrestricted FA at the end of the year, and Scott Boras will shop him to the high bidder - which well could take him back to Atlanta (unless the Yankees and the Red Sox feel like bidding against each other).

Agree with the earlier observation - Jon Daniels clearly struck it rich in the trades last year.

I hate -- HATE -- the Angels, but for some reason, I just love Scoscia. Perhaps it's because he always has this puzzled look on his face, like he can't quite figure out what's going on. And I agree with the poster above who said he gets more out of his talent that any other manager. He's amazing.

Atlanta's record since trading for Teixeira = 77-83. Of course one player doesn't really affect the record, I just wonder if he's not the best guy to have around the clubhouse. Huge signing bonus, then later made it clear he was too expensive for Texas. I think the Braves said they couldn't afford him long term, so don't expect him to go back.
