Terranova

Really? I actually thought it showed some promise. I'll be DVR'ing it to watch on the weekends, at least for the time being.

You guys sound surprised. Shows like that never seem to turn out well. Ideas like that belong on the big screen. An hour and a half you're in and you're out. They tend to spend too much time developing characters. I didn't see it but I figured it wouldn't be good.

Why would it be called Terranova if they go back in time only 60 million years? Maybe Terraantiqua.

I may be wrong, but it seems like SF has established the first twin like world to Earth to be colonized by humans will be graced with the name Terranova.

Just watched it from DVR. I'll give it an "eeeh, we'll see".

Found it funny that they flash backward 60mil years to restart a society that turned the Earth completely uninhabitable....and yet they had plastic, nylon, manufactured textiles, rubber, and many other trinkets that their mere presence indicates that they haven't learned the lessons that got them there in the first place.

We'll see. First episode pretty well fed every action movie steriotype in the books aside from throwing in a reformed prostitute with a cute kid. It could still recover and be a good show, but so far it's been pretty predictable.

Let's see...

Teenager mad at dad for some stupid reason... check
Father coming back, doesn't know how to be a dad again... check.
Teenage female lures testosterone son into dangerous situation... check.
Said female finds excuse to strip down... check.
Stranded in vehicle which is slowly being dismantled while help comes... check
Panicky kid decides to make a run for it and gets killed by dinosaur - although dinosaur mysteriously chooses not to eat the child, but rather to fatally wound her and let her go so she can die in the arms of one of the army guys... check and check
Mysterious "others" who broke off from the original colonists... check

I could think of more, but I sort of half-watched a lot of it.
