Tent camping in/around Austin

I am going down for the a&m game and am thinking about camping out (tent w/water). What options do I have for something in or around Austin?

Yes, McKinney Falls is the closest option. Others include:

Emma Long Metro Park (Lake Austin)
Pace Bend Park (Lake Travis, 45 min from Austin)
Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area (Lake Travis, 1 hr from Austin)

Which of these campsites offer the best scenic camp sites and mountain biking :

Muleshoe Bend
Pace Bend
Mckinney Falls

imo, Muleshoe has the best of both.

Muleshoe Bend - 7mi of bike trails, camping by/near the lake.
Pace Bend - roughly 3mi of bike trails, camping by/near lake
Mckinney Falls - 4mi of bike trails, camping in woods, some near the creek and waterfalls.

I looked on the Muleshoe website and it doesn't have camp sites w/ water and bathrooms close by.

Taking that into consideration which place would you recommend?

I haven't been there, but if you want to avoid a state park and their silly rules like no alcohol, Krause Springs is supposed to be awesome.

Krause is awesome. Really nice bathroom facilities. The pool is beautiful if the weather is warm.

Not sure about bike trails. But it's privately owned so you can booze it up.

OK guys it is down to Pace Bend or McKinney Falls (Krause doesn't have any bike trails).

Of the two, which would you choose?

I've been tent camping a couple of time at Mckinney Falls in their primitive camp sites by the river. I liked it. It has good (easy) bike trails.

I don't know how serious of a biker you are but McKinney Falls' trails are REALLY easy. Perfect if you have kids though, or just want to putz around.
If you are hardcore, camp at Emma Long, and bike at City Park, which is really close by.. you can probably ride there but the hills are gnarly.
