According to this morning's edition of The Oregonian, Seastrunk and Dontae Williams of Houston Aldine will be visiting Eugene for the Oregon-USC football game this weekend.
Taps,
I was at the game and Seastrunk can impress, there is no doubt. The other issue though is that Temple is terrible. They can't pass period. Their 2 plays are pretty much run the FB up the middle, run Seastrunk outside. Repeat. He has quickness and lateral movement that is fast as can be. He just has no line to run behind, and the Defense is always keying on the run.
i was also at the game. he's got great speed and pretty good balance (there were a couple of runs that he nearly broke/squeezed out an additional 3-4 yards just because he wouldn't go down...not tough running...slippery running). he has game-changing ability, but he doesn't take games over. part of that is due to the fossil of an offense that monsen runs, and part of it is that seastrunk doesn't seem to have that mentality. i watched ramonce quite a bit when he was at belton, and they are very similar athletically, but sometimes it just seemed like ramonce would say "screw it, i'm winning this game right now," and he'd do it. seastrunk doesn't do that. he also haaaates contact. every time he got hit the other night, he acted like he'd been shot.
talented kid, but not nearly the 5* #2 RB in the nation guy he's hyped to be. not even close.
I was not overly impressed with Lache either. Saw the game on tv. Might not have gotten the best views. but I wish the kid all the best wherever he goes.
