Temp Housing (6 months) in Austin

Brother in law starts a new job in Austin in January. He's looking for temp housing for 6 months (he'll be commuting from Houston until kids finish school).

Any thoughts or leads...?

There's enough **** for lease right now that he ought to be able to do a 6 month lease pretty much anywhere. What exactly, and where exactly, is he looking?

What part of Austin will he be working in? How much is he looking to pay? Does he prefer a house over an apartment?

He'll be working downtown. He's been seeing some opportunities around $600, but he'd like to bet that of he could. He'd consider a room arrangement in a home or an apartment.

There's some really nice condos out there for about 900 a month-- the stuff they can't sell that's close to down down.

Is he checking Craig's list?
