Tell me about the OL for 2011

I hate to admit that I'm more of a skill position follower when it comes to recruiting. I watch some great athletes and then think about how they'll end up at WR or DB in Division I schools. I pay little attention to the trenches, unless it's obvious that a defense is manhandling an offense.

It's my opinion that we have dropped the proverbial ball when it comes to OL recruiting ever since we got a hold of guys like Blalock, Studdard, and Sendlein. We let them play (a lot), and then figured the next guy on the depth chart would step up when they left. I have yet to see anything of the sort.

Who can we go after in 2011 that will make a difference up front? I know that some of the young guys will get their chances, especially this year. But we need more volume and talent.

i'm not sure how we'll do this year. we need westerman badly. he's the anchor to your line for 4 years kind of guy. dominating, strong, fierce competitor. doyle is committed, and cochran will likely be next. these guys will need some work to get texas ready (i'm thinking like kelly and buchanon types on the team currently). flowers is a no brainer, and we must get him. i'm thinking we end up with doyle, cochran, flowers, and another (?drango). the fight for westerman will be the big story. we have a legit shot ala jordan hicks

Is there a Texas lean from Flowers? Does Westerman have a connection to us? The next two I see on IT100 are Greenlea and Drango-- are they leaning our way? My thinking is that we should always be trying to recruit 5OL; with it an area of need, I don't think 6 is too many this year.
