Tell me about Minneapolis

I'll be there for a week in May and a week in June. Conferences during the day but we should have most evenings free. What should I not miss? Brewpubs/breweries are especially welcome.

And no, I don't want to go to the Mall of America.

Ok here we go:
Brits Pub is a must especially on the second trip when it will be warmer. Lawn Bowling on the top of a roof in Downtown Minneapolis is pretty cool.

If you get a free day check out Summit Brewery Tour.

There are many bars downtown on Hennepin Ave but aside from Brits you probably won't want to party Downtown at night unless you're in to the crazy club thing (and then it's great). I prefer an area called Uptown which is just south of Downtown. There you can check out Bryant Lake Bowl (Very hip bar/Restaurant/Bowling Alley) and Lot's of cool spots on the corner of Lake and Hennepin (The cabbie will know exacty what you mean).

Decent Brew Pubs include The Herkimer (killer Jukebox), Rock Bottom Brewery, and Town Hall Brewery

If after a few days you need to dry out, check out Lake Calhoun which is actually just a huge park with lot's or nothing to do.

If you're into Art, check out Institute of Arts which is world class.

Make sure you check out the City Pages for current events, we get alot of music in town during the summer.
