Can't sleep that long - my back is killing me.

I've tried just about everything OTC (store brand / generic HEB style).

I was even Vitamin C loading with 2 fresh Navel Oranges a day all this past week knowing I was on the chopping block; my wife, 2 kids & wife's family have all had this, so I was trying to be preemptive.

Next?

drink crazy amounts of water/OJ to stay hydrated. If you have any fever kill it with tyleol. rest. make sure your A/C system has a fresh filter to clear the house of dust. I also took some actifed(red box) to clear up the endless nasal drip, phlegm machine.

From that point you have to wait. Or, you can go to the dr if it persists. Because, if your mess has a bacterial component you may need anti-biotics but if it is viral the won't help.

Mine lasted off and on from 11-23 to 12-18. I waited too long to get the anti-biotics since teh time before (2 years ago) it was viral and I wasted the trip to the dr.

I also work in a cold room(data center) so that didn't help it.

Good luck.

I threw up 11 times on Tuesday.

Felt fine Monday and Wednesday, but Tuesday was just brutal. Perhaps it was the alcohol I abnormally consumed Monday, but since I only had two drinks, perhaps it was food poisoning. Either way, I don't think I have anything to contribute besides what has already been mentioned.

Be careful with the back pain, I had that during a "cold", turned into pneumonia. I was ****** up.

Worst pain in my life.

Have a stomach flu with fever.

Fever makes my bones feel like they are breaking (probably dehydration as well).

Q: I have a fever because my body is trying to burn up the virus, right? So if I kill the fever with tylenol, am I sparing the life/lives of the virus and prolonging the sickness? Shouldn't I just let my 102.1 degree fever kill the virus?

I got the flu or a bad stomach virus two years ago. I ended up in the hospital with such severe dehydration, that they couldn't get an IV into either of my arms. I ended up with the IV in my neck. Of course, I was too sick to care at the time but presently, that kind of freaks me out.

I did lose almost 25 lbs in one week. Though, it was mostly water and I gained it back pretty quickly. I did have a basketball tourney to play in 2 days after I got out of the hospital. I was kind of weak but it was more than offset by the weight I'd lost. I felt so quick.

Moral: If you're throwing up, don't wait too long to get to the ER.

Well, I started to cough last night & had to step out front of the house because it was a deep, bottom of your lungs kinda cough...

Ended up hurling.

Brushed teeth, rinsed, took 2 more NyQuil tabs (had just taken two not 5 minutes prior to the evacuation) then eback to bed - better night's sleep.

Let's eee how I fare today - I've got some roofing work to do & can't wait on the $$.

The zinc is probably not a bad idea, esp if you aren't sure whether you are dealing with the flu or a cold. Elderberry extract is another supplement to consider. If you start taking it early enough, it will knock a couple days off the duration and reduce the symptoms. Pretty much teh same thing you woudl get out of Tamiflu.

i had a bit of a cold last weekend - from about friday through tuesday. it's gone now except for a runny nose. i bought some kind of generic Theraflu Tabs at my hospital's pharmacy - they were the only thing that cleared up my congestion but didn't make my nose pour.
i feel for y'all. it sucks.

I can feel something coming on. And I'm supposed to drive from LA to Dallas starting tomorrow afternoon.

Not looking forward to this.

I got y'all beat. I have cedar fever, and it hasn't even peaked yet. Last few days have been better but once that **** spikes again I'm over.

I'm investing in kleenex.
