Ted Cruz/ Carly Fiorina countenances

I said early in this race, that I had a hard time imagining Ted Cruz with any smile short of an angry, condescending sneer. Honestly, the man has fixed that. He routinely now comes across as funny, warm and appropriately sincere. Even the smarminess is toned way down. Carly Fiorina is still struggling. Even when she bends her lips into a smile, her eyes seem to say "I'm plotting your destruction."

I've encountered countenances like Fiorina's in business, with a 7th grade English teacher, a college professor and with a woman with whom I once served on a committee. I always thought they cultivated their intimidating countenance because it would cause others to defer, get the hell out of the way or figure it out without bothering them. No question Fiorina projects smart and tough. Are there learnable skills that could help her project warmth and approachability?

I think a lot of Carly's evil expression is due to very bad plastic surgery. Her MD really jacked with her eyes.
I saw a photo of her before the surgery, and she looked like a fairly normal person.
I can attest she had actual laugh lines. Her eyes look angry and mean now.
Ladies, be careful. Aging gracefully isn't so bad! (and the after photo isn't even that bad of a picture--yikes)

I think it would require she possess some capacity for warmth and approachability. Politics doesn’t seem to attract that sort though.

In the picture on the bottom left she reminds me of Mon Mothma. In the bottom right, she looks like some cheesy motivational writer/speaker.

I like Fiorina. She's very sharp, and I think she would have a chance to win a general election. However, she would need to show a kinder side. I don't care about that, because I'm a deeper thinker than that and understand that I'm electing a President, not a next-door neighbor. However, the public does care, which means it does matter.

As for her plastic surgery, I understand why some women want to have poutier lips, more youthful eyes, fewer wrinkles, and bigger, perkier boobs, but when plastic surgery goes wrong, it goes wrong in a big way. If I was a chick, I'd rather look like an older woman than take the risk of looking like a freak show. It's sad because for her age, Carly Fiorina was a good looking woman.

I'm a complete loser this election. I like Carly, Ben, and Rand. My anti-politician prejudice prevailing. Rand, while a politician is the onLy candidate I believe has a real passion for addressing the budget and tax reform which remain my two most critical issues. And Trump I still think will fall out of favor, unless he is Clintons minion, the idea of which I do not dismiss.
Regardless, I do not believe, given her ability at complete absolution regardless of evidence, this election will go to anyone but Hillary. That scares me.

I like Cruz, Fiorina and Christie. I have a hard time liking Paul or Rubio, and I despise Trump. Trump has exploited to stupidity of the republican party just as Obama has exploited the stupidity of the democratic party. Carson does not have the demeanor for the top position, but would be a great leader for national health policy.

I am starting to meet many more people who say they are voting for Trump. They get mad and refuse to listen about his past views which include being for single payer healthcare, partial birth abortion, gun control and positive views of Pelosi and HRC. I seriously think Clinton, Sanders or Trump might be POTUS. I am truly afraid for my country.

I may be in the minority with this view but aging naturally is more dignified than trying to project an image of something you're not. Plastic surgery to look younger seems to pander to the shallower elements of American culture and its appetite for image over substance.

I am not sure there has ever been a politician with a more unnatural and unlikable countenance than Hillary Clinton. She literally looks to be in pain when she is forced to mingle with the common folks.

I completely agree, which is why I never understood why many used to view her as a slam dunk winner or "inevitable." She might be the most overrated candidate in recent memory. Basically she's Al Gore but with major ethical problems.

Fiorina is worse but I agree that HRC suffers from the same problem. My wife accuses me of sexism because of this view.
