Ruffin came on in the sixth. Has given up 1 run in each of the two innings. Gave up lead off homer in 7th and then walked two before getting out of the 7th. Not sure why we are using his arm with such a big lead. Horns now up 13-4 through 7 full.

Horns get 1 back in the top of 8th. Milner in for Ruffin in the 8th, gives up 1 run.

Is it just me, our are we hitting many more dingers this season than last year? Our batting average looks to be about the same (which is unfortunate), but our 'Horns seem to be going yard** much, much more often.


** The only negative to this is, due to our low batting percentage, most of the round-trippers seem to be of the solo variety.

Power numbers are good, 26 homers in 24 games. Average is up to .275, hope they keep improving.

True that. However, we have at least 3 guys that can hit it out of any park - including Yellowstone.

Nice t see the bats waking up. Yes, the power numbers are quite a bit better than last year. 26 HRs in 24 games so far, while we had just 53 in 67 last year (actually we were only at about 30 HRs in 45 games at one point if I remember correctly, till we heated up a little bit at the end) ..

We were around 2.2 in ERA and 4.4 in opponents' ERA at around this time last year (and finished the year at 2.95 and 5.2). At 2.77 and 5.36 this year. Seems like the pitching has not performed like we expected (but not too bad or anything), but the batting is certainly better.
