Tebow does good

I know we are kind of sick of how much the media loves this guy but he is a pretty good guy.

Tebow walked the red carpet at the college football awards with Kelly Faughnan, a 20-year-old Gator fan from Virginia who is recovering from a brain tumor.

Tebow met the woman while attending a function at the Walt Disney World Resort on Wednesday night. Her final request before having surgery last December was to attend the football awards show, where she hoped to meet Tebow.

She was wearing an "I love Timmy" button, which caught the attention of an ESPN producer. Tebow was introduced to Faughnan, who also suffers from hearing loss and tremors, then spent nearly 45 minutes with her family.

"We got to meet and hang out," Tebow said at the end of his red carpet walk. "I asked her if she wanted to walk the red carpet with me, and so it was fun. She went and got this dress (Thursday)."

This doesn't surprise me, and it's a nice gesture. What does surprise me is that ESPN wasn't running this story all day, and have it running on the ticker, and there wasn't a 60 minute special about it. But there is still time.

Kind of like how a few Ags and Sooners said Vince showing up with McNair's kids in public was a publicity stunt? It's amazing how people can let annoyance at media hype with someone negatively shade their personal opinion of his character.

Tim Tebow is a great kid. It's not his fault the media slobers all over him. Tebow was raised to be a good man, and as a dad, I would be thrilled if my sons had the kind of heart Tim Tebow had.
