Makes you wonder if the Rangers are ready to commit to Taylor for next year and the long run. If so, Laird becomes expendable, and could make very nice trade bait. Do they keep Salty, also? He's still very young, and he was the Number One prospect in the Braves system. I suspect the Rangers could trade one of the catchers (not Taylor) and of the outfielders (keeping Josh and Murphy) and get some starting pitching in trade. Maybe they could even get a serviceable 3B in return, allowing them to put Chris Davis at 1B and cut the losses with Hank. Interesting thoughts...
