Guard Isaiah Taylor out for tonight's game against Cal after injuring wrist against Iowa. Will be re-evaluated upon return to Austin.

Bad News Friday. UT PG Isaiah Taylor has a broken wrist. He'll miss 6 weeks; details:The Link … ($)

Not sure of the authenticity of the info in the second tweet, but he is out for now.

DAMN!

We're screwed. No way this team wins against our upcoming schedule with Felix as PG unless he drastically improves/changes his style. Taylor created when there were opportunities and because he was just better than the guy in front of him. Felix just decides he's going to go one-on-one regardless of whether it's there or not.

Just pray. That's all we can do. I knew some bad news was about to strike when we had that terrific comeback to win the game and then our women went and beat #1 Stanford too. Everything seemed to be going perfect, and then DAMN.

It still bugs me that Saunders went out of his way to try and excuse the foul and say he didn't see it as being unnecessary or excessive. The guy was not going for the ball - when you block with two arms, one across the guy's body and one across his face... i don't see how that can get more flagrant or "excessive." Ejecting him was absolutely the right call.

Hope he recovers soon

Cal beat Syracuse!?

Hopefully he fully recovers for conference play and we can pull off some wins over our tough non conference opponents until then.

Prodigal you are right. That foul was brutal and unquestionably "excessive." Taylor was within a whisker of landing on his head. I hate to think what may have resulted, i.e., neck or head injury.

Hope the young man recovers fully in time for conference.

Saunders is just a Horn Hater. For some reason he has a huge chip on his shoulder when it comes to Texas and it just colors his judgment when he comments on or calls UT games.

This could be a good thing in the long run. We'll look inept at times against UK and UConn, but people won't be ready for us when March rolls around. I just hope that Taylor heals enough to be a defensive presence in the conference slate.

I do not know if we will win at Connecticut and at Kentucky but I believe this team showed tonight they are still capable of winning games without him.

They definitely gutted it out - but it was pretty clear that the offense stagnates measurably without Taylor in the game. Good news is, that was a good Cal team that we "gutted it out" against. And we did it on a night when really no one other than Holmes had their offensive A game. So that's really encouraging!
