Tax Deductions without receipts...

My wife runs a childcare center out of our home. I know I can deduct things like utilities, % of the house, etc. My question is this: There are a lot of items like couches, a TV, a DVD Player, etc that I bought with cash from family, garage sales, and Ebay. Can I deduct things without a receipt? I don't want to get in trouble with the IRS for these things.

Sure as long as you don't get audited..............................the IRS are NOT forgiving people.

TennesseeHorn is right. It's not a matter of whether you can deduct them - you can. It's a matter of proving it up to the IRS if you get audited. And from the situation you described, you've got a better than normal chance to be audited.
