seriously, name somebody worse. and when you finally find that guy, let us see how many games that guy started. jackson has had 16 starts. 16.

he is pitiful. horrible.

colt or sam bradford could step in there, right now, at mid season, and do better than this guy. i'm not even joking about that. i really believe that. how can there not be another qb better than him on the waiver wire. you telling me chris simms isn't better than that guy? i'm just not buying it. i just don't understand how a PROFESSIONAL football coach can look at the film on this guy and say.... "yeah, i think we got our guy".

but i'm not even sure grossman got 16 starts, and i'll take rex over tavaris all day long. that statement alone speaks volumes about suckitude.

I loved how Deirdorff was defending him. If I'm a Viking fan paying top dollar for tickets, I expect at the very least a QB that could partially function. Deirdorff is a big puss. Never liked him.

As a Vikings fan it pains me to see the way Jackson is crippling the team. A half-way decent QB (and consistent WRs) would make that offense damn near unstoppable. I'm amazed that Peterson is doing what he's doing with no opposing defenses respecting the pass one iota.

That having been said, Jackson is serviceable. He went 8-4 last year. There are far worse QBs in recent history. Hell...I'll throw out two Smiths--Alex and Akili--who couldn't carry Tarvaris' jock.

T Jackson for V Young... Finally VY & Peterson in the same backfield

Tavaris is nowhere NEAR the worst QB of all time.

Bubby Brister, Rusty Hilger, Jeff Komlo, Ryan Leaf ( I once saw him go 1/15 with TWO interceptions), Chris Weinke, Randy Hedberg, Kim McQuilken etc.... are all in this debate.

I don't think he is the worst starting qb in the NFL right now, much less ever. He is nowhere near the bottom 50 ever I'd say. His record is also pretty damn good for his first 16 starts.

Edited to insert "starting" in front of "qb"

thank you J40. minnesota has sold this guy as the franchise qb. not sure bubby brister was ever considered anyone's qb of the future.

and while leaf was freaking horrible and so was quincy, neither of those guys has half the squad jackson does.

Been a Vikings fan my whole life. While it's frustrating, I don't think Travaris is as bad as people think. Franchis QB? Hell no, but all they want from him is to manage the game. Had a terrible first half against GB, but really hasn't played that bad since. Hell, he thew a perfect pass for a TD Sunday, only Shiancoe (who I will nominate as the worst TE ever) couldnt f'ing catch it. I can't even count how many TDs Williamson dropped on his own last year. It's an uphill battle when you have below average receivers, Childress as your coach, and you can't buy a pass interference call on a big play to save your life because you are Tarvaris Jackson (but that's another story).

That said, he probably needed more time to develop and learn the game before thrown into the starting role, but sometimes that's just the way it goes. I'm willing to give him a little longer. Then again, I'm not a sooner who's on the temporary bandwagon.

Kyle Boller is worse than TJ.

Jackson doesn't look confident, seems confused, throws the ball to gawd knows who sometimes, just doesn't have the poise needed to lead the team.

I can't think of a horrible QB with as many starts unless it was Grossman or Carter as mentioned above.

If he keeps up this horrid pace in his second year starting, he'll end up with about 2,500 yards passing, 8 TD's, 8 Int's and about 500 yards rushing. For a borderline playoff team, with a grind it out offense, bad receivers, and a great defense.

Worst ever?
