Tamales from Kemah/La Porte area

Lived in Shoreacres growing up, and there was this Mom/Pop restaurant (Think it was mom/pop, I was like 9 years old tho...) and they made the greatest tamales. The mexican places up here (Maine) don't even have them

If anyone has a great tamale recipe for me please post it, nothing I've found online can compare to what I used to have

We now have an Alamo Tamales in Clear Lake City now. It's located in the strip center @ Hwy. 3 and CLC Blvd. next to a Starbucks. Tamales are always fresh and they take special orders too.
